Z4's top-down and top-up process

Hardtop is a relief for most Z4 owners, considering sound insulation, chasis strength and design. But the purists loathe it, it not only takes longer to open but also adds to the weight. Then again IMO, soft-tops are really hard to live with.
Downside:Two-piece hardtop is an engineering marvel at the cost of performance and practicality(Indian context). with z4's optional white leather ,its even harder to drive top down in most parts of the country.

Fact that it can turn into a convertible roadster from a tourer under 20secs, is "Expression of Joy"

He only owned the car in KL jk. Just got it moved from his hometown to work-town.

@tushar - I adore all the pics featured here but my fave has to be you driving her on your "Big Day". Still remember the pics tushar, of the picture perfect drive!

Thats a beautiful machine, and pretty much the finest colour on the car, drove a white one which was with the dealer and that engine like you said is to die for at close to 6000 rpm,

And even amazing is your photo skills, I have taken the liberty to use one of the pictures as my wall paper, I hope that wont be an issue, if it is do let me know will remove it,

Regards

No way, SL now you are liable to pay royalty .

@ JK: Z4 is registered in cherthala (IL's place). Like scorcher said, it was transited up-north recently.

@Scorcher: Thanks buddy, i'll put that up someday.

I am intrigued as to why the Z4 is infamous! There are no clues in this thread at least.

Three words.

OH MY GOD!

Due to a lot of work these days I've not been able to check tbhp much. But I'm glad I did today. And I'm coming for a ride

It's got a great stance on the road. I absolutely love it. Didn't think I'd say that about contemporary BMW's, not that it matters as I couldn't afford them anyways. Great pictures too.

Very true Monk, its 'love it / loathe it' design language lately. But most bmw designs take a while to set in, the more you stare at it, more it starts to grow on you. Initially, i found 6 and 7 rather audacious, but X6 takes the cake for chutzpa. "JOY is being ridiculously niche"

Congrats tushar_lalsan, awesome car in an awesome colour. I love the colour blue and this shade of blue brings out the best out of the Z4. It has got an intimidating face and a sleek look too.

The photos are amazing and does justice to the beauty of the car
Happy Motoring!!!

Thank you guys

Just some figures on Z4's fuel consumption: This sensitive throttled-schizophrenic beast can put most sports-cars to shame. I've had an average speed of 40kmph for over 20kms and this beast threw some astonishing figures at me (which was hard to believe) an average of 10-12km/L. Highest i've seen(though for a fair distance after reset) is 14.9km/l.
while i'm at it, i'll throw in its lowest as well: 4km/l.

By the way, I don't know how far its true, Present gen Z4(E89) is made in Germany (not US, unlike previous gen) and the main reason behind the high quality fit/finish/feel. Correct me if i'm wrong.
