1Ltr in approximately 5000kms is not normal i guess.

Where is the update Arjuna?

By the way, is your oil consumption issue/query resolved now? How is the truck performing?

Re: My Fiery Black Scorpio SLE. 1year update @ 22,000kms

one year has just passed by like a dream with my scorpio .The car has run 22K kms perfect with numerous highway trips and dusty village tracks with comfort. On Jan 1st we took a last minute decision and celebrated scorpio's anniversary at Mantralayam .

Got Hella 3003 and Red Grills on 31stDec as anniversary gift. The spread / reach is amazing and lights up the Highway like a floodlit stadium ,even truckers were dipping their H/L. however need to align the beam properly for effective useage.

Everytime we ride the scorpio , i feel i have taken right decision of Opting for Scorpio

Completed 4 services in last 1 year ,with nothing major to report except 1 puncture and OEM horn which had gone kaput.

Ownership cost for last year:
Fuel - Rs.64380 ( Mileage city 10-10.5 & highway 13-14 )
Service - Rs.12966 ( last service was paid and had to pay Rs.7800 ,changed engine oil / oil filter / fuel filter )
Wheel balancing / alignment - 1250
Accs: Hella 3003 - Rs.7500 incl of fitting
Red Grill horns -Rs.1200 with 6 mnths warranty.

Couple of pics .

Shashi , got the hella's thru hella distributor and installed at Crossovers Tirumulgerry . If had known before maybe we could have bargained for a better price. Speak to Ramana - hella @ 9603274033 or contact shiva at crossover ,since you have bullbar it is easy to install.

If you know anyone coming down from US shortly try and get Rally 4000FF , retails at $125 + shipping within US .checkout at rallylights.com

Re: My Fiery Black Scorpio SLE. 1year update @ 22,000kms

arjuna the hella3003's come with 50Watts bulbs as OEM. They aint that bright as such from what I have seen. The light throw is pretty good, however the intensity leaves a lot desired for, try and see if you can source H1 100Watts hella bulbs.
The 100 watts bulb is a better bet. Also I have been using the 100 watts bulb on my scorpio for over a year now and the reflectors haven't blackened.

Thanks Arjuna for the info. Will ask my BIL in the US to get one for me when he is coming down this year. I guess 125$ is quite cheap when compared to the prices here.

hi riju, 100W H1 bulbs cost around rs.320, i too felt that the intensity is less compared to my 100/90 H/L ,however the reach of spots are very good .

Hellas along with high beam of 100/90 H/L is super bright and has got amazing reach.

Re: My Fiery Black Scorpio SLE. 1year update @ 22,000kms

Since My Hellas were getting undue attention at parking bays & outdoor locations ,have got a rexine cover stiched with elastic band which is easy to remove / install ,looks neat gels with the car and has added to the menacing looks .damage Rs.200

Arjuna,
Congrats on such a happy ownership of the Scorp. The hella's sure looks amazing! Did you get the light alignment done for them?

Some night pictures with the Hella's would be really good!

Also, any creaks or rattles till date?

Re: My Fiery Black Scorpio SLE. 1year update @ 22,000kms

On 17th my scorp completed 30k service , nothing major to report except for niggling issues power window switch , being assured by ASC that they will change under warranty next time if it gets jammed .

issue cropped at 30k service.

Front Right side Ball joint Bush head is damaged and needs replacement , i have to pay and not covered under warranty.
Minor leak in power steering hose, will be replaced under warranty. this seems a routine problem with recent scorp's as pointed out by service guys.
Rear suspension bush set of 8 needs to be chnaged in next service ,again paid and not part of warranty.

Mahindra service is going down by the day , they seems to be over burdened without adequate infrastructure after recent success of XUV . it takes days to get service appointment and even after appointment ASC requires 2 days to complete service .

Re: My Fiery Black Scorpio SLE. 1year update @ 22,000kms

first part replacements :

Got the Rightside Front Balljoint Bush head changed under warranty , M&M guys act very miserly while honouring even standard warranty .

Also had to replace rear Bar bushes ( set of 8 ) , i had to pay and not covered under warranty . Total Cost 2108 incl of Tax .

Planning to replace both the front wipers , what are the sizes ?

Guys, how are rallye 4000 and 4000 compact compared to 3000/3003 with 55W ? Are you both using driving (euro) beams ?

Riju, i plan to have 3 hella's on the nudge guard like yours. Do you think there is enough space to mount them ?
