Same here!

I had told the dealer thrice not to stick those ugly mudflaps.

Ahem, no carbon fibre please! I am not a racer boy & I prefer a much subtler black roof.

Do you think you can live with a bodykit? I saw one which is subtle but looks really good.

Check this site out - Bodykit Accessories for Fiat Grande Punto 2005 - 2010

Also these headlights are good - https://www.dectane.de/index.php?cat...8a2a2fc9757329 Worth the price IMO
Again, I dont want to mess with the clean Italian body line by adding aftermarket kits.

Cheers.
We can be a bit more careful about that & I am sure it wont be much of a problem.

Hey Raj! Congrats on the beautiful Punto and sexy wheels! Black roof and white exterior is a killer color combination! Let me drive the car when we meet at the next go-karting meet, will you?

Yes, it does. But I think it may look even better if the grills and OVRMS are also painted black.

Thanks buddy. I find the 90 hp to be a bit lethargic. What is your opinion?

Hey Raj,
Your ride looks simply awesome ,i think this is the first Punto in TBHP with black alloys ( i may be wrong also).
You have done a very good thing by getting 98 pcd alloys instead of alloys of other PCD.
Did you get the rubbers also changed along with alloys ?
Are you planning to get the top painted black or vinyl it .
Anyways , drive safe and take care.

Cheers

Dont form any opinions now. Seriously, drive it till about 3000km and you will think its a different engine.

But you didnt tell me how you are going to colour the roof?

Thanks a lot buddy.

Safety is paramount. Thats the reason I dint mess with the factory specifications of the wheels.

No, though I am not so happy with the stock rubber (they are too noisy), I will be using them for atleast 40k kms & then changing to Yokohamas or Michelin.

I am considering a vinyl simply because this process is reversible. is it durable?

Hmmm, okay buddy.

Thats because I myself have not decided till now. I am searching the web for various options & also looking at the pros & cons of a vinyl job.

Update:

My car's odo is showing 450 kms now. that is, 400 kms of blissful drive in 4 days, 100 kms per day!

Drove my car to speeds of 100 kmph today, for the first time. I have said it once & will say it again, the ride & high speed stability of this car is fantastic...

I had the same feeling initially. But, now after crossing 7k km, I think differently. It could be because the engine has opened up and also because I've learned the right way to drive this car. But, I guess compared to your mHawk the Punto will always feel lethargic.

Hmmm, so that means the engine becomes more responsive after 5-6k.

I feel the engine response is the same & we get used to the power delivery after some time. we adapt our driving style in such a way that the performance feels better.

Congrats Rajeev Bhai!!!
As you are getting the roof blackened, why not smoke the headlights too to give it that hot look that our old friend "Kambhoj's" Punto has.
BTW, I totally side Driv3r. The original alloys blackened, would've looked way better IMO. Anyway, enjoy the car and take good care of it.
BTW, the BHPian Aditya (Shenoy) who you mentioned is not "Renegade" on this forum FYI. AFAIK, it is Adi shenoy.

Thanks buddy.

No smoked headlights & taillights for me. They are not to my taste. Moreover, my daily running includes night driving & I feel proper headlights & tailights are essential for that.

@Raaaaaj:
Congratulations. Even though I've had ample rounds in this car, Pintu keeps calling me back. I remember the distinct joy on your face when the Blue & Me worked.

PS: Raj, only the roof becomes black. Nothing else. Pintu looks best when stock.

EDIT1: Whats up on the ICE front?
EDIT2: I've been one of the few persons to be in the backseat of Pintu. She is accommodating, but my knees did tend to ache after say, an hour. That is purely because I'm a 6 footer and the person sitting in front was also a 6 footer. Well, almost.

Cheers!
Cartman.
