Congrats on your new car. White is the best color on i20. And it looks all the more better thru your Nikon.

And yea, thats a biiiiiig list of freebies! When I got my car in Jan'11 (Dec make), they just offered me 20k insurance waiver. And the dealer felt as if he's doing a great favor to me.

Keep your driving experiences coming in. Drive safe.

Happy Revving.

Hey congrats on the buy. You can lock the steering? I tried & unable to on mine.

Yes, you can. When you switch off the ignition and remove the key, just a small flick of the steering will lock it. Make sure the steering is straight.

You mentioned pinch control on the door glasses - did you check it? Somehow it never works when i try to test it by putting my hand there (I should've tried putting something else actually)

yes it does work. but i have a feeling that it still can harm or not detect at all a small kid fingers.

and Car manual says(page 4/16)
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
✽ NOTICE
The automatic reverse feature for the driver’s window is only active when the “auto up” feature is used by fully pulling up the switch. The automatic reverse feature will not operate if the window is raised using the halfway position on the power window switch.

WARNING:
Always check for obstructions before raising any window to avoid
injuries or vehicle damage. If an object less than 4 mm (0.16 in.) in
diameter is caught between the window glass and the upper window channel, the automatic reverse window may not detect the resistance and will not stop and reverse direction.

Hope this answers your question.
regards,
Suess.

I'd read this and wanted to try it. I'll again try it with a small pillow or a soft toy or something like that. Have lots of queries around this car. Have got myself a 8 month old Sportz (P) in Berry Red.

yes Pancham, i don't have any problems. in fact when for about 2-3 days there were no films, it was still working great. it takes about 10-15mins to get to the selected temperture(22C i am using in auto mode).

Re: i20 Asta 1.2L Petrol : 1st i20 2011 model on Team-BHP Forum

Congrats on your i20,

We got an 2011 i20 Asta(o) on Feb 3rd, brilliant car is was what my dad says.

To solve our horn problem, we wanted to go with an after-market horn like Hella, after talking to our dealer they offered to install an extra OEM horn as that would not void the warranty etc, went with that and voila problem solved. Of course I haven't heard the horn but dad says its a lot better. You might want to check with your dealer if that's a possibility.

Regarding AC issues, no problem noted so far, AC blows hard and cold, we did go with a Garware ice-cool shield(windshield protection)to keep the sunlight off and help with high beams during night driving.

Also might want to check on glove box light addon, neat accessory, we got this added on before we took delivery.

Enjoy your ride!

BTW, we managed to get the following
1. Reverse sensors(didn't go with it, as the service guy said it would leave black dots on the rear bumper, as a substitute opted for the Garware icecool shield)
2. Undercarriage rust proofing(live in a coastal town)
3. Teflon coating
4. OEM floor mats with trunk liner
5. Mud guards
6. OEM i20 silver door sills
7. Glove box light
8. Garware window tints
9. OEM i20 car cover

Best bang for the buck

Congratulation on your buy. i am sure you must be enjoying it. you also got great package freebies.
I am having problems with door sills plates now...they are coming off one after another and that would have been ok but they are leaving scratch marks and rust on car door sills.
Looking for some solution. let's see. let me know if anyone can help.

When I enquired about these at the sevice centre, I was informed it would cost around 1000 bucks. So much for door sils? Not that I was going to buy it from them anyways.
