No you wont lose your warranty. But im quite sure there are special paints you get for the brake calipers, which can withstand the heat of the brakes. So just google around a bit and youll find them.

I think you should take it one step at a time. Leave the grill as is and decide later after you keep the car for a bit. You might end up doing it in a rush and regretting.

I think some DRLs like this will look great if they are stuck under the fog lamps.

Is it a Feb 2011 make ?

re: My new Chevrolet Cruze in White! EDIT : PICS on Page 2

DRLs are not to my taste - I like a black monster look. I like the lights inside headlamps though - but I don't want to open it up.

Grills - yeah. I probably won't do it. I don't want an exact copy anyway.

Hmm noob question time: How do I find the make / year + VIN? when I asked the Sundaram motors guys for form 22, they said they will retain it!

Aah - TIL the chassis number is also called VIN - mine is indeed a Feb2011 model - yay!

Torq: I don't know the level of secrecy required to protect my VIN - so I am going to opt for caution and say no. Sorry about that - nothing personal.

Congrats. But I am surprised why you even accepted the car, if all these were not in your favour. Having a scratch on the car, on the dash and other things, you should have flatly refused to take the car.

When I got the Beat for my wife, after a few days I realised that one of the ac vents was broken, which i told them and they got it replaced during the first service, as the part was not with them. But again, this was not something evident or visible on delivery and was small

I feel you should have refused to sign and not take the car. Its odd to drive a new car with a scratch and wait till first service to remove it

re: My new Chevrolet Cruze in White! EDIT : PICS on Page 2

@drchernish: No rear ac vents.
@thedreamcatcher: different priorities I guess - when I received my bike, I had made them to replace a scratched indicator. Here I just wanted to be out.

Enter Decepticon!

NOTE1: there is a USB port picture - and yeah, that is a decepticon logo on the driver side.
NOTE2: The work is not done - I didn't want to leave the vehicle overnight - so got it here. Pending work: blackening gold color, headlight tinting, brake coloring.

Let me be the first to respond. The car looks fantastic. The roof painting actually has made the car look a little smaller. The wheels looks great too.

I personally didnt like the smoked rear lamps. But it does complete the concept of your car.

It takes guts to make changes to a new car and i salute.

Congrats!!! Looks absolutely wicked. Replace the licence plates with the "IND" type secure plates.

re: My new Chevrolet Cruze in White! EDIT : PICS on Page 2

@VW: Thanks mate. (Regarding the new car, I always enquire how much it will cost to revert back. I do the change only if the reversal amount is acceptable to me - just a small OCD thing that has saved me dejection a lot of times. You guys should have seen my invader). FWIW, The rear should look a bit better when the gold is replaced with black too I guess.

@AirWind: Thanks mate. What are these secure plates and what do they do?

Anyone has an idea where I can source them in Chennai?

FWIW, my wife is going overboard after seeing an infiniti with black side mirrors - so guess what is turning black next?

Lovely!! I liked the mods. I agree to VW2010 regarding the looks of the rear lamps. But, since its a package, they do merge into the overall look.

Wishing you a very happy and long journey with this hot beauty.

re: My new Chevrolet Cruze in White! EDIT : PICS on Page 2

Really hot modifications. It has entirely transformed the look of the Cruze. I too agree that blackened lamps dont look that great but, maybe when the logos change color it should improve.

With regards to the alloys, IMHO, the red tinge is not going with entire theme. Full black matt would have looked better.

Also, with mirrors in black now the only sore point is the steel muffler at the rear

I concur with VW, with all these mods the car looks much smaller and it takes guts to change a brand new car. I usually reserve it for 2-3 years down the line when i get bored with stock looks.

re: My new Chevrolet Cruze in White! EDIT : PICS on Page 2

Thanks folks. Hopefully the gold going away will change your perception of the rear (I like it now - but again, everyone's baby looks beautiful to them!).

I wanted the car to be white + black complete, but the OEM guys added chrome and wife added red rings. What can I say! I am gonna paint the brake calipers red to match the red ring fwiw.
