Don't mind me saying this but with no sleep, you should have probably not diven as much as you did on the return leg. Smooth highway, steady speed, sleepy driver. But glad you made it home safe, thanks no doubt to your excellent co-pilots!
Hey, thanks noopster!

Well, I know my sleep cycle well; hence I actually drove down all the way. If I don't get sleep till 5am, I don't get sleep later either. And I love my car much more than anything else, so at least for it's sake, I'm very careful
Add to it, my strict no 90 km/hr+ rule. And hey, I wasn't sleepy!

But point taken, I generally don't do this.

Where do you generally head towards?
Yes for sure. Generally any malnad region does during the monsoon. Anything to the tune of 700-800 kms over the 2 days would be suitable for the riding appetite

If my wife sees this, she's going to keep the car and bike keys away from me.

She's in for a surprise this week though

Great drive you guys had!!!

Now this is something I can relate to. Me and a couple of my friends used to have this habit of going on crazy drives every weekend. We did not have any fixed destination in mind, but just got into the car and zoomed off. I remember we once went to Ooty and reached there at 3 in the morning. We then had tea and bun at a cart near the bus stand and then left back to Bangalore.

When we told this story to some other friends, they were like "you went all the way to Ooty just to have tea??? you guys are crazy".

Were we crazy??? Of course we were!!!!

Yeah. If you ain't on the peak, you ain't on the peak!!!

Seriously, you should have made the effort to climb up those steps. It would have been an awesome experience.

It is Hotel BHADRA @Balehonnur, just before the bridge when coming from CKM side.
Nice place, but nothing to talk abt the dishes served there.

Thanks guys! There was so much fog at 0700 that we were hardly able to see our hands in front of us and it was chilling to the bone!!

We went till the steps in the car but then we gave up since we would not have been able to see anything in that dense fog even if we had climbed all the way up.

Thank you fellas!
In hindsight, we could have a lotta things; climb all the way to the peak. But given the blinding fog coupled with the fact that we'd driven the whole night and were going back to B'lore immediately made us slightly skeptical. Now of course, I feel we should have gone.

There's always a next time!

PS : For once, being crazy sounds like a really nice compliment!

Bhadra WLS will probably be closed now due to Monsoon. So plan accordingly.

That's a nice TL Nishad!. . I appreciate your passion towards traveling.

If you look at it, trip decisions made out of instinct are most fun.

This reminds me a trip we had during college days. After the usual fag after dinner, someone came with an idea to go to kodaikanal. . (From Cochin, CUSAT) Next thing I know is we are on our way with some dirty clothes and stuff packed. We didn't even have enough money to rent a lodge and had to stay in the car for one day. But mind you... it was the most fun!.
