Re: Goa conquered!! After 587.73km and 29hrs of bi-cycling

This is just awesome. I have done around 100 kms or so when i was in college and that itself knocked me out (rather my butt and foot) for couple of days. Even driving a car or bike for 500 kms is a task

I SALUTE YOU!

A friend of mine recently did gurgaon to goa, a distance of about 1900 kms i think. It took him 15 days. He documented his journey in a blog

Akshay - This is AWESOME!! Repect Man!!

I drive to Goa 4 - 5 times a year from Mumbai and complain about getting tired at the end of the drive. After today, I don't think I can complain.

A truly commendable feat. BRAVO!!

Why not try this on a bicycle someday with a group of friends. Trust me you wont regret it.

Stupendous achievement Akshay. You have set a great example though replicating it would be near impossible for most of us. The distance and the cycling hours are enough to dissuade anyone from taking this challenge. Hats off to your spirit. Your tardiness in penning down your travelogue can be easily forgiven.

I cannot imagine even attempting to replicate your feat but I will try not to complain of exhaustion when I next travel to Goa (in a car).

Great stuff Akshay!!. Just read your thread. I am myself a biker and can understand the sheer bliss it must have been. I own a Cannondale trail 5 and ride about 40km daily here in Himachal. The feeling is just too overwhelming to describe in words. Shimla to Chandigarh (100 km) is the maximum Ive done. Would like to clock more but my schedule is bogging me down.

Akshay...I am stumped by this amazing feat! Hats off to you.

Did you post about the other trip that you mentioned in your post?

Regards,
Saket

Re: Goa conquered!! After 587.73km and 29hrs of bi-cycling

587 kms in 29 hours! Even Volvos take 14 hours to cover that kinda distance. Amazing feat man!! I hope to go on such a trip myself someday.

As a 19 year old college kid with no wheels of my own, I'm quite an avid cyclist myself, and my trusty Atlas nebula has never let me down in the past 5 years. Recently gave up the bus and started cycling on the 6-7 km route to the swimming pool and was quite pleased with myself until I came across your thread

BTW what kind of odometer setup do you have on your bike? Should have installed something like that the day I got my cycle, I'm pretty sure that by now it would have had a higher reading than my bro's car

Also, how many gears does your beast have?

Haha. Its nothing great man.

The cyclometer I have was picked it up 4 years back and dont see on decathlon website now. Now I have a different cycle which is a roadbike named Giant Defy 2. It has 27 gears
