Fantastic write up Imran and hats off to you. Epic ride I must say. Excellent narration and short and sweet.

Interesting travelogue, bblost. I am toying with the idea of doing a north India trip on a new RE Desert Storm in 2012.

Did you go to Meerut? Or was it Mathura? Meerut is not located between Delhi and Sagar, and hence, this question.

Fantastic ride Imran and a even better write up I must say!!
The ramblings stood out, no doubt about it!!
Stupendous!!!
Keep doing it and keep surprising yourself, the mind has no limit, it will sometimes wander there, where you could not imagine in your wildest thoughts.

Awesome ride and amazing write up. Covering 700+ kms in a day is not easy I feel. Just curious! In a day how many hrs did you use to ride?

That's one great ride bblost! Congrats! Just read through the entire travelogue. The narration is short and crisp; to the point and with good snaps, especially where you've mentioned 'My India is Incredible'! Can almost feel like 'I was there'. The determination to ride solo all the way back only reminds me of the song - Ruk Jaana Nahin Tu Kahin Haar Ke…very apt!!

Wish to do some stuff like that someday. Just waiting for that day and the ride.

I have two bikes:

One is this lovely 350 cc single cylinder.
The other literally burns me from inside.

My wish is to someday do a similar trip on my cycle.

Great writeup Imran! Good to see that you were able to make it for the RM. The questions and observations you have made at the end are very interesting. A long, solo ride really does things to a man that nothing else can.

Good to see some Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Club bikes in the pics you've taken!

Bblost, let me just say that I am a huge fan of your writeups. This one, I first read on Sat nite (on the Team-BHP App). Thanks for taking us with you on the journey. The philosophy, perspective & humour in your threads are simply inimitable.

For a bike that's meant to be a tourer, the Bullet sure has poor reliability man. You should probably upgrade to them Ninja 650s in the coming year or two

Do you listen to MP3s on your long rides?

Not really. My bike must have completed over a lakh kms. Nothing except routine service. Another friend of mine sold his tb with well over 1.6 lakh kms.

The key thing is to understand the bike and ride it correctly.

Nopes. The helmet fit makes it difficult to get headphones in place.

I am just going to do my second solo from Pune to Kochi in Feb-end on my 78 Bull. Did the first one in Sept 2009. I took the Pune-Bangy highway and took a break in Bangalore. Then from there to Kochi. Planning to stick to the same route...
I was wondering how long can you ride a Bull at a stretch (without a break). During my previous ride, I used to stop after every 3 hours... just wanted your opinion.
Cheers,
Sam

Provided the roads are decent.

3 hours at an average 70 kmph would have covered close to 200 kms.
So you are just in time for a (optional) fuel stop and some tea.

Optional as I assume you would have burnt a lil less than half the tank capacity by then.

Have fun, ride safe.
