The Pune-Bangy highway is in excellent health. That's why I opted for it over NH 17...
Thanks...

I keep a couple of small biscuit packs with me.
The Rs 2, tiger/ parle g kinds.

Ever since I quit smoking, these are a nicer and much healthier option in the middle of a short break.

Whoa! That is some log bblost. There are few things in the log, which a solo Motorcyclist can relate to.
And the post no 10 seals it. It is the naked stark truth. Your write up was invigorating. Thanks for sharing

When I recounted the story, Manish felt it was harassment. Anyways, I just think they were a bunch of immature jokers with too much time on their hands.

I cannot find my license.
I think I lost it when I was showing it to these guys. Did not realize it was missing till late last night. I happened to glance at my wallet and the license was missing.

I don't know if the cops pulled a fast one on me or not. But I never needed the license after this episode.

Now starts the rta run around to get a new license.

But luck is still on my side. For Rider Mania, I had taken a photocopy of my license. It is decently clear and I need it for logging the FIR and so on.

Re: Day 1: Ride till Sanawad.

Nice Travelogue Imran. That's one long journey from here to up north on a bike in that cold weather. I cant wait to participate in my first RM and depends if its in 500kms range as I am not cut-out to ride that far.

Btw, the ground where all the bikes were parked looks quite dirty with lot of dust. Was that the venue of RM?

Also, did you encounter any punctures during entire trip?

I have realized recently that I dont seem to ever owned a 2-wheeler license as all this while I was thinking my 4-wheeler license had an added line for 2-wheeler which was not the case

Do update the procedure on applying for a 2-wheeler license

*Best Western Resort Country Club, Gurgaon

It was quite decent. Most parking lots are like this.

Thank fully none.
But we do carry spare tubes, tire levers and air pump.

Usually takes around 20-30 mins to replace the tube.

I never reuse a tube with a patch on it.

Man, what an engaging write-up. Hat's off I actually thought i'd save the read for later and finish my work first, but I was so hooked from the very first para that i decided to S!#%^W the work
Me being a rider myself, I know that feeling of nirvana. Nice ending to your post too...very likeminded ethics in life we have.
Cheers!

Hearty Congratulations Imran

When I called you to check for the road between Vijaywada and Hyd on 28th Jan, I could hear the "THUMPS" and the whistles in the background. Although I did not travel with you, but did have a 40 sec audible experience of the Rider Mania.

Wonderful narration; excellent travelogue. Really a superb experience of riding and of exploring oneself! Your ramblings are very true and I too have talked, sung, cried(!!) to myself on my bullet. Invigorating read my friend.
All the best with your DL procedures..
BTW, liked your saddle bags. Did you get it done or is it from some company?
Respect to the words felt by you: Saare Jahan Se Achha Hindustan Hamara! The country beautiful.

What a wonderful recount. Loved your ramblings. Reminded me of my two road trips covering one fourth of Rajasthan on my Yamaha RX100 with my friend. It also reminded me of Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance by Robert Pirsig.

Wow, That was an amazing write-up, RM2012 was fun, and once we entered Rajasthan, the cold was too much to handle. I on the other hand did not click too many pics (too lazy, hence the handle), was just riding. Now waiting for RM2013 in Shillong.
