Awesome shots, Robin!

Thanks a lot for making us enjoy this amazing destination. I know where I need to go next (when I have enough money).

PS: How did the S90 fare? I was close to buying the S100, but have postponed it waiting (optimistically) for the G13.

Cheers,
Tapish

Amazing choice of location there robi bhai!
Am I glad you chose this over the Africas, which has a different charm altogether though.

Your pics are so good that as a viewer I can almost feel the freshness of the water. I adored the pic of living on the edge and that of the bear tearing the salmon apart. Bring on the pics, we are not going to get bored!

Look forward to further instalments, rating the thread a deserved 5 stars

I'm just pressing F5 button for the next set of photographs.
All I can say is excellent pictures and a breath taking location.

I was also interested for the cost and logistics of the total trip from the scratch. Please PM me whenever you get time!

Robi: Do post some more pics of Moscow & towns in Kamchatka, if you have taken them. Especially roads/buildings/city skyline.

Re: Bears, Volcanoes & what not, Far East Russia: Photologue

Appreciate your choice of location!! It's one heck of a location. Very nice snaps of bears. OT: Incidentally, I was watching a program on Arctic which talked a lot about Polar Bears on BBC Entertainment yesterday and today I am reading your travelogue about the same!!

The S90 is pretty awesome as a point and shoot, if you know its limitations. Its really portable and in good light you its useful for travel photography.
Maybe you can even get the G1X which is supposedly even better though a tad pricier and bigger.

Well smartcat, I didnt shoot that much in the towns/cities as we had hardly any time in Moscow or in PKC. Besides I dont fancy shooting roads/buildings etc much.

Crushing a salmon..you can actually see the salmon roe spewing out if you look closely!
