Wow. I noticed a green, black and red Ninja 250 and a couple of 2012 650R's amongst the bunch of bikes parked there. Did you walk in to any bike shop and check out their parts and gear? You get a lot of nice stuff there so its easy to get carried away.

Excellent photologue Mobike!

Quite a few Mustangs around. Not surprised, really. But I quite liked the blue 350Z in the earlier page. The one with what looks like BBS-LM/360 Forged wheels.

What's America without junk-food! Pictures of that please

My folks are planning a US trip sometime this year. If I get my passport renewed and a Visa on time, I would probably tag along, so looking forward to that. *winks*

Oh, and I'm guessing there is more to come? *grins*

Thanks Riju. Been to US after a long time and first time in Seattle. Yeah, i agree the weather in Seattle is the dampner as its pretty depressing most of the times but, otherwise its a pretty scenic place.

During my previous visit had spent over a week at a friend's place in Jersey City. We used to take the Path or the boat and hop over to NYC and we did a lot of touristy things then including visits to the top-notch malls, Times square, stores, Empire State Building ( ruins i.e) and Greenwich Village quaint pub visits etc

Even Gajadonga pointed that out. It does look weird

Ah! I knew you would spot that. No such luck as I was most of the time during my stay in Seattle was short on time.

Thanks Suhaas. Little tied up at work so this photoblog is progressing slow. There is one or two post dedicated to cars that I spotted. Will post marking it as " End of Photoblog"

I am a total foodie and usually never miss taking pictures of food. Having said that next few posts will contain some junk food pictures. Keep a look-out

That's wonderful. America is a great place to visit as long as the visit is short. I miss India too much to stay away for too long.

-------------------------------------------------------------

After reaching South Station, Boston. I walked out to Atlantic Avenue where my sister and mom were supposed to pick me up. My BIL was out of town and nieces had no clue that I was visiting.

I was excited

They made me wait in that chilling cold for almost 20 minutes while she was taking rounds on that avenue as there was no parking spot there and you cannot wait more than a few minutes to pick up a passenger.

Next round, i see her car ( Honda Odyessey) coming and she stopped and i dumped my luggage in the back and hopped on to the passenger seat.

It was one of the greatest pleasure to hear my nieces squeal in excitement and they were in total shock to see me. That made my visit to them the most successful one

My nieces in complete amazement and excitement

Thanks for some information about the public transportation from these airports.
Did you take any pictures of the Mega bus.Did you get to drive on the highways?
It never struck me to take a picture of Megabus but, it was a huge blue bus with double-decker, air-conditioned, toilet facility, TV screens and Wi-Fi facility in the bus. All this for a $15 fare

You can check them out at :- Welcome to megabus

Other competitors are Greyhouse & Fung Wa

After spending a late night catching up with family and enjoying a hearty home made dinner, we all hit the bed with a plan to get up early and go out for breakfast to International House of Pan-cakes (IHOP)

This post contains pictures of our visit to IHOP and being a sunday late morning, it was jam-packed with lot of people who were just returning from Sunday mass ( Could easily make out from elaborate and lovely clothing which people wear when attending the church)

we were waiting in the crowded waiting area for almost 30 minutes before we got our seats and proceeded to order the following :-

Spanish Omlette with Spinach ( Best Omlette that I ever tasted in my life)
Wheat Based Pan-cakes
Strawberry Pan-Cake
Blueberry Pan-cake
Orange Juice
Coffee Pot
Kids got their pre-defined kiddie meal which consisted a bit of everything

One of the most enjoyable meals that I had with great company ( Mom, Sister and Nieces)

Snoqualmie falls is really beautiful. There is a trail that takes you to the bottom of the falls.
But its been closed due to the ongoing Hydro electric project. Last time i went there i remember reading somewhere that the trail will be open in Spring 2013.

LOL Ashish. Yes, I am little too fond of food for my own good. And, sometimes it gets embarrasing when you take pictures of food presented in front of you in a crowded restuarant. People stare at you as if you just landed from some starving nation

All said and done, I love taking food pictures and take it whenever I get an opportunity

There are a few more pics of food coming up in next few posts.

Oh yeah! its really wonderful and it felt so peaceful to be just standing in front of the wall with utter silence and just the sound of that gushing water.

I did see the trail and also some people were venturing out but, it was slightly drizzling so we decided to gawk at the falls from the top and then have a hot cup of coffee in restuarant right outside.

After that delectable breakfast which made us extremely lethargic, we decided to drive around and visit the beach and some shopping malls.
So we made our way to "Revere Beach" which incidentally is the first public beach in America.

It was extremely cold and windy outside so we didnt venture out till the water as standing out in open even for a few minutes was a tough ordeal. So stepped out for a few snaps and made a hasty retreat back into the car.

Some of my friends commented that the way my mom is dressed up, she can give "Eminem" competition

Re: US West Coast-East Coast : 15 days of work & fun !!!

My nieces wanted me to pick them up from school every single day of the 5 days that I spent with them.

It had become almost like a ritual to pick them up from school and they used to get super excited to introduce me to their teachers and other school friends

My mom all decked up and ready to go out

Re: US West Coast-East Coast : 15 days of work & fun !!!

After picking up the nieces from school, we decided to go to a gourmet pizzeria called " Upper Crust" which is like the upmarket pizzeria of Boston. They opened just a few years back and already breathing down the neck of established pizzerias like Papa John's, Bertucci's etc.

I used to love Bertucci's a lot which i enjoyed during my previous visits and this was first time I tried Upper Crust. Let me tell you it was one of the most delicious thin crust pizza that you can ever taste. Their pricing is on the higher side with each pizza starting at $20.99 and goes up to $35 I think.

We ordered 1 Chicken and 2 Veggie Pizzas and I almost fell down when I looked at the size. I admonished my sister who is also a foodie like me that we ordered way beyond what we can eat. However, surprisingly, we almost demolished 80% of pizzas on the table washed down with Diet Coke/Pepsi as the Pizzas were so light and fluffy that you keep eating one slice after the other without realizing it.

One of the best Pizza meal in real long time.

Re: US West Coast-East Coast : 15 days of work & fun !!!

Next day, Me, Sister and Mom decided to go to Wrentham Village Factory Outlet ( Wrentham Village Premium Outlets) which is roughly 45 miles away.

Our plan was to stop for a quick breakfast at Dunkin' Doughnuts and head out to Wrentham and finish our shopping and reach back in time to pick up the nieces from their school in the afternoon.

There are over 170 stores of different sizes and almost all brands that you can think of and has one of the best discounts that you can ever find in America.

We bought a lot of stuff like :-

a) Clothes
b) Perfumes
c) Sneakers ( I bought 4 pairs of Adidas Sneakers and got one of them for a ridiculously low price of $7.50)
d) Coach Ladies handbag which on discounted offer was $119

Between the three of us, we blew over $600 bucks in that 3 hours of shopping.

This post contains pictures of that trip to Wrentham and some of the factory store outlets.

Traffic jams happen in US too. We saw this massive bumper to bumper jam while going to Wrentham

The pizza's look yummy. The funny thing is, we have an upper crust pizzeria in downtown sacramento too but it is quite cheap compared to what you have quoted. The largest veggie pizza being just $19. Quite opposite to what it is perceived over there.

The premium outlets are mostly everywhere. Pretty good deals at all stores for major part of year. We have two near us and both are crowded most days of week. And if its during weekend, chances of finding a parking spot is very hard.

Re: US West Coast-East Coast : 15 days of work & fun !!!

In continuation of my weight loss regime, I didnt want to miss this super opportunity of being in Boston with temperatures so warm ( hovering between 8C-12C and is warm by their standards) that I enjoyed going out for walks each and every day I was there.

I use to go for a 5 Mile walk each day around noon and what best place to walk than Fellsmere Park which was roughly 1 Mile away from sister's home. As you can see from the pictures, that lake and its surrounding was also postcard perfect.

I used to walk the entire circumference of this beautiful pond filled with lots and lots of colorful geese till i am totally sweaty before heading back home for a quick shower and a hearty lunch.

Re: US West Coast-East Coast : 15 days of work & fun !!!

Next day, we decided to visit Barnes & Nobles as that's the most favorite place of my nieces and also for my mom. Iam told they have a nice story telling session on a friday/saturday. But, it was neither of those days so there was no story telling session.

On my insistence, both my nieces got on to the dias and started reading a book. They looked simply adorable

After finishing that, we headed out to Trader Joe's which is a store known for selling organic food as my sister is a lot into buying that stuff.

And, then we went "Border Cafe" this has to be a must visit to anybody visiting the east coast. I am not sure if its there in other parts of US. It's one of the most lively place filled with humungous crowd with music and great mexican food.

We had a hearty dinner of Enchiladas, Burritos and Quesidais and best part was the free nachos they serve on the table with dip. One of the biggest, crispiest and most awesome nachos that i ever had which were refilled on request.

Lovely Book store where you can sip on a starbucks and read the whole day. Great ambience

Re: US West Coast-East Coast : 15 days of work & fun !!!

Alright, my photoblog is almost ending. What better way to close this blog than share some pictures of the cars that I spotted during this trip.
Next few posts will contain pictures of some cars that looked nice (I mean not all of them are exotic or supercars or any such thing).

Some are normal cars, one or two are supercars and maybe one or two are drool worth etc.

Starting the first post with car that I own and love to death.

Presenting the Cruze's that I spotted during this visit. Actually, I didnt take a picture of every single Cruze but, whatever I could manage. I spotted quite a few of them though

I spotted one of my most favorite american car. The mighty Corvette !!!

By luck or sheer coincidence, I saw the same color car twice in different cities.

Only regret that it was not a color that suits it. I prefer the canary yellow which is synonmous for the big "C"

This was seen at Wrentham Village, MA

This one was practically flying in the fast lane somewhere outside of Seattle Suburbs
