On another note, do you still have that Scorpio? If yes, I would like to know the current ODO reading.
Yes, always a pleasure to meet.

Yes, Scorpio is going strong, now odo is almost 422,000 kms.

Here is the latest photo when it crossed 420,000 kms

Have you ever rebuilt the engine? I would be amazing if you can put in the service record in a review and cost/km etc.,

Yes, I do have detailed service records.
Last fortnight, one of the timing tensioner springs broke, damaging the timing chain assembly and valves, so I had to open up the engine for the first time & change some components - but the cylinder - pistons & crank - were untouched, they are looking good even after so much running

Great Travelogue HVK & Team. One of the best that I have come across.

I wanted to go to Bhadarwah , Kishtwar some years ago but instead my co travelers insisted on going to Leh from Kashmir.

I will plan to do these routes in my old Scorpio. HVK Sir is there a link to the Trip Logs of this trip ?

Hardly the route where I would travel with kids and family
HVK Sir I was in Chamba on 26th June 2014 (last year).
I inquired and the Sach Pass had not opened by then.
I also inquired about the Road to Bhadarwah from the Local Tax Drivers, and they told me the road was completed and Vehicles do travel Chamba - Bhadarwah now. I am wondering if they were talking about the unfinished road that you had to turn back from.

Time to stop logging travels, HVK only seems to get the lime light, and burning midnight oil to present the log goes under the carpet

Re: Cliffhanger Himachal, Hidden Kashmir and a search for Mughal Ghosts

I just finished going through the complete travelogue, one of the most crisp, detailed, informative and very entertaining it has been. I would like to thank you personally for all the details and the maps provided. I am myself planning to do this route on my motorcycle this year, and I may need your help in it. Thanks to the whole team who has put in their experience and information from the starting to the end. The best thing I like is that every narration had your beloved vehicles Scorpio and Madam Safari, I loved the pictures in which these two machines are showed.

Sir,

Fantastic travelogue

A request, can you please share the full route that you did again. It's there in bits and pieces and Laluks has posted the plan in the initial pages.

I am reaching Jammu on 16th Aug and have a few days at disposal for a ride. Plan to travel to Zanskar. Bike trip. Also want to visit Gurez.

If you can share latest route update, that'd be great !

The Langera - Bhaderwah road opened would be the one from where ITBP sent you back.. right ?
