A Photologue : 2012 Chicago Air and Water Show

Landed in Chicago on 17th August. Was fighting lag when a friend said, tomorrow we go to see the Chicago Air and Water show. I was not so keen with my body still in vibration mode due to the non-stop 20 hour flight from Delhi to Chicago. Air India calls it non-stop but it stops in Frankfurt for close to 3 hrs, but you remain inside the aircraft.
No issue with waking up next morning, Was wide wide awake at 4 am. Took Metra to downtown and reached the lake shore at around 11 am.

Awesome pics there. Brings in some nostalgia of my stay in Chicago trip of 2008. Remember I was just a few days early to depart before the air show. There was a lot of buzz around the show and everyone in my office was planning to go and see it since it is one of the last major events before Autumn sets in.

Already by then there was an air of cool breeze setting in with nights getting cooler by the day. There were some other events that I witnessed though like the Independence day fireworks at lake Michigan and various summer festivals (parties) and concerts across the city and suburbs but yes this Photologue completes the event list by witnessing it atleast virtually!

Some to do suggestions- do the Architectural tour by boat, view the downtown from Hancock center top floor restaurant (BTW the best view is supposed to be from the window of the ladies restroom at this restaurant), sky diving in the suburbs of Chicago (if you dare), Aurora temple (for the religious kind) and of course the Devon street for all the loads and loads of desis and Indian food (feel at home)!

Seemed to be quite a show with the A 10s and the Blue Angels present!

The Blue Angels were an amazing finale. Breathtaking stunts. Stopped clicking and watched them.
