Re: 18 Passes, 15 lakes and 2 breakdowns : Ladakh and Lahaul call again

The Bap( father) of all the travelogue on Ladakh region. I read it word to word when I was planning for my 2016 Ladakh trip. I read it again to have some inputs for my 2018 Ladakh trip. This time I want to do the Merak-Chusul-Mahe-Korzok route. I am done designing my itinerary on the base of this write-up.

Back in 2016, I was not a BHPians so couldn't thank tsk1979 for these write-ups. Thank you very much, tsk1979 for this amazing detailed travelogue. Standing ovation to you, TSKsir.

Tanveer....while you enjoy in USofA TeamBHP is actively using your travelogues ...as also certain entities without any credit to you. (Reference tsk1979 post on his FB wall regarding https://www.wheelstreet.com/blog/an-...dventure-2018/

Hello Tanveer,

It's amazing to go through your travelogue! It's been nothing less than a fairy tale what where you see unicorns & find yourself amidst them.

I'm so glad to know BRO helped you fix your White Elephant.

The Road to Padam still takes 9-10 hrs. I'm attaching a screenshot here of the conversation w/ Dad on his recent inspection of BRO RCC at Padam.

Also, you correctly mentioned that the Top priority for India/BRO/Project Vijayak is to make the Darcha-Sinku La-Padam-Chilling Road as a 3rd Alternative to Leh. A tunnel is planned at Sinku La. Let's see when that concretes.
My dad when he was posted in Manali back in 2008-2010 ordered a recce & I was a part of it (My college semester break & my love for Trekking). Along with various uncles, it was an amazing experience.

Also, you'd know the Road to Hanle Observatory is paved by BRO.

I recently did my 4th Leh Trip. I'm so inspired by your writing skills, I'm planning to write a travelogue soon.
And post that all the travelogues post that about my experiences being a Border Roads Engineering Services Brat!

Please do so. It would be great to read about perspective of an insider
That said, I was hoping that national highway 301 tag will make the Padum-Kargil route better, but it seems its made it worse!
