Re: Hyderabad - Mahabaleshwar Post monsoon relaxation!

The final set of pictures, these are the flavors of Mahabaleshwar.

You have the strawberry with cream, you have the famous Mapro Garden with its wood fired pizzas and fresh ice creams! You have the chocolates, the rabbits and the honey! Then you have Panchgani, with its monkeys and flat table lands. More strawberries and the lake Venna. Water level was so low in June that we could easily climb down the stairs and walk on the lake bed. But, as i said earlier, Post the rains, we were scared even to go near it!

Too tired to write captions, thats about it folks! Thanks!

Nice and crisp narration unoczar.

Btw, i have been reading your other earlier TLs ( GOA and etc.,) and found them very interesting

A trip to Mahabaleshwar is on my mind now. This will be my first trip to that beautiful place. I may plan a trip in second week of January'2013.

Most of the hotels in Mahby have large parking places so that should be the least of your worries ( Btw, why did that thought of parking come into your mind? I never think of that aspect when I am driving)

Here my travelogue to Mahabaleshwar in May-2009 :-

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/travel...country-7.html

Been to Mahby a couple of times more after that but, never went around to penning down a TL on them.

Hi Night Hawk, thanks. Both times I've stayed at hotels inside the main market area. Parking was never a worry as I got parking right in front of my door both times. MTDC resort has a big complex there, we even checked that out, but rooms were medieval kind and dint suit our taste. There are many resorts on the way and some even near the main market area (<2km). mobike008's post here would help definitely. I would recommend a resort with a view of the valley(s). All da best for the trip!

mobike008, I somehow missed your Mahby TL. Thanks for sharing the link. As usual with your TLs, you Mahby TL of 2009 too was very informative. Loads of information and will be very helpful. Thanks. Any updates on the current status of the route you have then recommended via Baramati.

Thanks for the info unoczar.
As you said, resort with a view of the valley should be great. Will keep that in my mind.

Why Baramati? I guess one should get off the NH9 asap after sholapur. Take Mohol-Pandharpur-Satara-m'war. If you are in a SUV, then absolutely no problem with this, but in a small car you need to be careful that too only for small stretches.
Still, after saying this, I have not gone the baramati route.. so I dont know about that.
