Re: Munnar - February 2013 Edition

Nice travelogue nkrishnap!

Thanks for sharing the beautiful pictures of Munnar with us.

Munnar tops my list of hill destinations. Had been to the place twice. Its beauty never ceases to amaze me. Some of the locations in the town can easily rival European destinations (especially those around the lake). It is also far less chaotic compared to the hill stations up north.

And yeah, Linea looks in its elements in the pics (with hills in the backdrop)

The Kumbakkarai falls and Manjalar Dam , diversions after Periyakulam and Devadanapatti respectively are good additions to one's itinerary on his/her way back Theni towards Dindigul. Beautiful places.

Nice travelogue Krishna. Your narration style is similar to your drive-leisurely/relaxed. Munnar is one hill station in South that I am yet to cover. The pics are awesome especially the ones with the mist. Waiting for more pics as you have promised in your earlier post. Thanks for sharing again.

Do visit during Monsoon, the place will not be crowded, there will be awesome views with the mist all around the place.

With the pending pics, it will take some more time as I have completely drowned with work for now.

I have a Alto 800cc, would it be convenient to take it for trip this long. Or would it be a tiring trip.

Alto 800 can definitely go up the Munnar ghats from any of the sides (Udumalpettai, Kochi, Theni). The convenience is solely dependent on how much the driver and the passengers are used to the car.

Tiring about the distance, it varies from person to person.

My suggestion, give it try. Like Nike - "Just Do It"

@nkrishnap - Breathtaking pictures. Munnar is indeed one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen in India. Excellent photography as well. Never seen such beautiful captures of Munnar before.

When I visited Manali, I saw more Altos than any other car there. So as @nkrishnap told - Just do it !
And Maruti is the safest car to take to unknown places. You will find a Maruti service center almost anywhere.
