Amaze-ing thread Rudra, just for the photographs! I did not even read it yet. The pictures are jaw dropping awesome, no one else could have captured this better than you.

We could have managed more had you guys were together with us. :D
No, we stayed outside French Colony area. Took the cars there for pictures only
We were there only for the first night. Left early in the morning. I'm sure there are many places you can shoot at Trivandrum.
Sad, we didn't get enough time to do justice. But time crunch is always there in a trip like this.

Didn't realise you have places like this in India. Pictures are awesome as is the norm and this must have been a fun drive over pretty decent roads.

Love the sea pictures. It's so blue / green. Not dirty water like other beaches.

Amazing Drive and photography rudra. Your photography always speaks a lot. I haven't seen blue sea in our country so far. You have amazing talent to turn a worst designed car to tastefully modified car.

In fact your Volkswagen Jetta Official review thread helped to nail my purchase decision of my Jetta last year.

That's a neat and crisp review! And great pics! As someone noted, the sky appears extra clear and blue in your pics!

I haven't had the chance to take my i-VTEC Amaze out on the highways too much, but relished the little outings we've had :).

Your location says Tamilnadu. Travel along the coastline and you'll see lovely blue of Bay of Bengal. :)
Sky was blue there. And I do few things while shooting.
You didn't try out diesel while buying?
I do not use polarizer. Sometimes I use gradual ND. Few shots here are with gradual ND.

Thanks. Yes, I did. But then, I am a petrol head and secondly, my usage does not justify a diesel! I checked out the diesel only because my interest was piqued, having read the T-BHP official review :-)

Dear Rudraji, Thank you for a great update.
I recently bought the Amaze Diesel- S MT and got rid of my Santro. I agree with your complaints, and I would like to add a few more suggestions.
1. The gearing especially the 1st and 2nd is very short. You tend to hit the rev limiter very often when getting started from a signal.
2. The idling RPM is very high- 900- 1000, I am not sure whether this is true for all Honda Amaze DTECs, but it is very irritating when driving in the city. Even if you do not press the accelerator, you do about 25-30 KMPH in 2nd and 35-40 KMPH in 3rd. One has to de-clutch to reduce the speed.
3. I have notied rusted exhaust manifolds on ALL Honda DTEC engines- on new cars- in show rooms. When the sales persons were quizzed about it, they say it is 'Normal'. To me, it is not!
4. An Automatic Gear box for this car would have been welcome- I would have gone for that.

I was driving down to Pondicherry on that day in August and saw this convoy of vehicles going towards chennai. I hope our bhpian wasn't driving that blue amaze .i would have had a head on collision with one of the blue ones between mahabs and pondycherry ,that guys was driving like mad and must have done close to 120-130 km/hr on a narrow bridge.he was overtaking a vehicle and came bang on to me..

A bhpian wouldn't do that...Honda should not give their cars to such lunatics

Rudra sir, on the other hand, we have PLENTY of time and are super duper hungry - for MORE photos! But the problem is we have been given only a small portion of appetizer and then left to live with our hunger.

Yes sir. The difference of efficiency between the GPS and 'the' Human(e) GPS is more than 2 hours for a total time of 7 hours. That is Twenty Eight and Half Percent!

Let me assure you, it wasn't a TBHPIAN. Apart from me there were two other BHPIANs (covering for different medias). If you've noticed a maroon AMAZE, that was me with one other BHPIAN. Other BHPIAN had to leave early because his flight time was earlier.
Trust me, it was a hectic drive all through. We hardly got enough time to shoot.

From photography point of view, I'm not happy with my output. Time was the culprit and that's all I can say.
That percentage can be reduced to a great extent if the group co-ordination is correct. Yet another reason for not getting enough time to shoot.

Your observation regarding the noise level of Honda Amaze Diesel is becoming a serious deterrent for those who are planning to purchase it. Yesterday I received a call from a close friend who is confused to choose between Dzire and Amaze. Both diesel and top end. Currently he owns a WagonR so the noise level is disturbing him very much.

Sorry for this late reply. That's the key. You have to have a light foot to get the best out of this diesel engine.
