The vistas on route were so beautiful, that you feel like stopping every minute. But since we had to reach Kaas before the midday heat, we decided not to stop.

Need to go there again, and this time I won't miss.
Will meet tonite at the zombie drive and hear more live feedbacks from all those who were present.

@SDP... Is there only a specific time of the year that we can go to Kaas?

There is a 3 week window in Sep. This weekend would most likely be the last weekend. Hurry up!

Oh! I guess then I'll have to wait till next year then. Coz I have to take a 3 car expedition to meet a celebrity on this Sunday.

Amazing coincidence.

I too was at Kaas on last Sunday, but in the afternoon. This was part of my return leg from Mahabaleshwar to Mumbai. Was in a Kinetic Blue EcoSport AT, with family.

Neat Pictures of the trip. I don't have as many at my end, but will post some when I move them to the laptop.

After spending few hours on plateau, it was time to head back. The parking lot again!

We tried to search a suitable place to shoot cars, but somehow couldn't find it. Since it was getting late, we decided to have lunch on the way instead of heading to city.

Once lunch was done, we decided to regroup once at the highway and then start our return journey. That is when we found a perfect place to shoot cars. It was a newly constructed building with lot of open space in front. We lined up our cars!

With this final photoshoot done, we started our return journey. A tea break was needed after a heavy lunch. Tea on NH4 means a pre-decided spot for me. Hotel Kailas Bhel at Khed Shivapur. Was happy that people liked the tea. Raghav was really worried about the fuel level in his tank. So he decided to leave and go ahead to get a fill. The group again met just before the expressway to say a final goodbye! Heavy rains and thunder lightening accompanied us all the way till Mumbai.

So an epic journey came to an end! Well this is not the actual end, it's just a beginning!

I do have 2 recordings of the FFE sound but there is a lot of wind noise in them. Will still try and upload them as soon as possible because Skydrive is not working on college WiFi

Hay SDP, I came to this travelogue through a link from Karthik's trip log - http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/travel...ey-beyond.html and I am truly amazed by this thread.
It was a wonderful blend of friendship / camaraderie / beautiful flowers and plateau and of course those cars not to forget the roar of Swift through the tunnels and small titbits like the tractor and biker boys sprinkled.
A little tete on reverse -lens also helped me gain insight into that never heard of possibilities with a camera.
Thanks SDP, Varun and every one. It is almost 3 AM in the morning now and this thread managed to make me stay glued to the monitor all the while and Rest assured I have already firmed up my itinerary to Kas next September ( the right word I believe is Kas as a Maharashtra tourism board mentions it somewhere in your triplog where as every one calls it Kaas, but sure this is indeed Khaas!). Thanks for sharing ( this is to all you guys who were part of this trip) and Drive Safe
