re: Ladakh Photologue: Overdrive Independence Day Quattro Drive, 2014

Hi Robi,

Wonderful Ladakh as usual but the Q- series is the Icing on Cake or shall I say warmth & hospitality of Emirates A380 at 50,000 fts.

It would really help, if you can comment on the performance of the cars in extreme conditions.
Q3 is one I would be interested in as a possible family buy in next 6-9 months.

Thanks

I really envied these beasts when I encountered them on my way near pang. I thought the overdrive team was driving them. It will be interesting when a Thar is necessary to pull these monsters out.

NO WAY DEAR.

I AM MEAN MAN and would love to extract every bit out of Fortuner before either me or the FORT goes dry.

We are looking to replace our XUV 500 with another SUV.
Q3 fits the Budget and also satisfy the size criteria for a decent SUV.

Let see how it goes.

WOW is the only word every time i read a LADAKH travelogue in TeamBHP. The place has a mysterious beauty of its own and the travel is an unmatchable experience there.
I have been there myself and we did the entire trip on Royal En field which is a different wild experience all together.
Happy to see you all having done the same with Audi Q7 , and it just shows the enthusiasm to travel be it any means. We have a similar plan in 4 wheeler next time ,but it would be treks inclusive apart from explorations. Cheers!!

Hi Robi,

Thanks for sharing this short and sweet travelogue on Ladakh. You're a lucky guy! The pictures you've clicked are really wonderful. Driving an Audi everyday in the hills and at the same time enjoying the beauty of the Himalayas is a great opportunity.

Looks like heaven !!

Wonderful pictures, my favorite pic of the lot would be "Emerald colors at noon". Absolutely gorgeous.

A different Audi each day in such scenic terrains, what more can a man ask for You are a lucky man..

Small world. I was in Diksit at the same camp, the same night. Didn't know you were there.
Btw how did you sign up for that drive?
Nilanjan thats quite a coincidence. I am sorry we could not meet.
Signing up is actually pretty easy. They come up with these trips every now and then and if you are lucky you will get selected. This month they have this 100cc bike ride in Ladakh http://overdrive.in/riseabove/

Of all the cars I loved the Q3 and Q5 petrols the most. They delivered the best performance in the extremes of Ladakh. The Q3 being a smaller car was actually a boon in those narrow mountain roads. It does feel a bit cramped at times but is a brilliant all rounder. Its an ideal car if you want to use it in the city as well as go over some broken roads in the weekend.

Dean it already aired last weekend but here is the youtube link.

Also the September issue of the Overdrive magazine covers the event in detail with pictures.
