Hearty Congratulations Mr and Mrs Gannu! And man what a trip, what an occasion, what a write-up! Enjoyed every bit of it!

I must say Polo GT TDI looks A.W.E.S.O.M.E. in black!

BTW I have a tough question to ask! Who looks more beautiful is it your better half or Polo?

Congratulations on the new adventure.

The snaps are awesome as always. I really like your Mom' ancestral home. The open veranda around the house is great for kids. Sadly, nobody makes homes like those anymore.

Hearty congratulations to both you and wish a very happy married life.

That's a wonderful write up Gannu. Some of pictures of your ancestral homes remind me so much of the ancestral homes of our folks in Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka.

Your GT TDI looks great and is perfectly suited for these long road trips. Drive safe and keep updating us on your wonderful travelogues and DIYs.

We planned to meet during your onward drive - We couldn't
We again planned to meet during your return drive - We may have crossed paths when you were halting in Pune.

Nevertheless, there's always a next drive and we will certainly meet when I cross Surat again.

Here's wishing you a very happy married life and may you get all the time and support (More than anything else) to accomplish your DIYs.

An Excellent log! It's very interesting that members like to share such special events on the forum.

@Gannu_1 - I don't think there was a better time for you drive than this one. Glad that you have a partner who loves travel and make this crazy drive with you.

Great pictures! How did the car behave at high speeds?

Hearty congratulations to both of you. Wish you a very happy married life.

BTW, the way you kept your car in such a good condition makes me think that you will be able to take care of your better half much much better.

re: Polo GT TDI Chronicles - From Surat to God’s Own Country for my Wedding!

Many congratulations and wish you both a very happy and blessed married life! I know how awesome it is to have a life partner who loves road trips as much as you do, I'm married to one!

And that's one immaculately maintained black car, absolute hotness you got there!

I'd suggest you lay low on the DIY section for a while. Nobody would want your first fight to happen over that black beauty or team-bhp

Guys, thank you so much for the wishes. The home ministry was happy to read through the thread and the responses.

I had no intentions of penning down a travelogue but GTO suggested that these posts be moved from the ownership log to a thread here. I am glad some of you liked the images.

But what a nice way to welcome some one into your life. A looong road trip! Hope the better half has already got acclimatised to the passenger sear for those long hours on the road!
Hehe yeah that was the last one. She loved the return trip to Surat. We have a trip planned to Aurangabad (Ajanta, Ellora caves) due this Diwali.

Tell me about it Ajay! I keep staring at the parts every day. Will have to take it up one of these days.

Good question! I’d best not answer it now lest I be denied entry at home!

Thank you Deepak. While Naveen and I had met on Sept. 21 (Monday), I thought you may be available. But since you were located at Kakkanad, it was too far for a short meet. Next time for sure.

Thank you Rakesh. We had been through Vennakara a couple of times last month and I had recalled that you live in this area.

Thank you so much Parag bhai. We shall definitely meet next time. Please give me a holler in case you are passing via Surat.

The car felt planted at all times. Absolutely no vibrations or quivering. Road noise however was apparent especially on concrete roads. I’ll be changing these stock tires when the odo hits the 25-30k mark.

Absolutely Naveen. Though the stay was short, we had an awesome time there. We’ve vowed to come back sometime later when time permits.

Congratulations on starting a new life. Wish you best of luck and a very happy married life.

The travelogue too is beautifully described. Indeed, I am prompted to visit South India, having looked at it. Truly five star stuff.

Great triplog Gannu.

Happy married life. Your posts are tempting me to visit kerala after 5 years now. BTW i too belong close to your place. Dads ancestral home is in Tiruvilwamala which is not very far from perungotukurissi and moms is vavuliyapuram, just 4 kms from mangottukav temple.

I was last there during my wedding 5 years back and these photographs are forcing me to plan one trip very soon.
