For those who want to explore Leh and can't go by their own ride (like me, for various reasons) option you guys selected is the best one I feel.

Srinagar-Leh by road, hiring a bike or car rental for exploring Leh surroundings, return via flight to Delhi which saves time.

Yes, another advantage in taking return flight from Leh is that you do not need to keep a buffer day for Leh - Srinagar journey.

That said, Leh - Delhi flights are much expensive compared to Srinagar - Delhi.

Suhas - It is any day a mission accomplished especially for us from down south due to the reachability. Taking a flight till Srinagar really makes sense. I certainly admit that driving is a different experience altogether but how many of us can manage to get an additional 6-8 days of leave for driving uptil there during a vacation?

My GoAir flight from Leh to Delhi on 10th Sep 2015 costed me Rs. 1,149/- all inclusive (yes, including taxes and Govt. fees).
I had booked it on 23rd Mar 2015 (or was it 22nd) when they had made a 999 offer for 2 days across all sectors.
