I was told there was cold water flowing and tables kept in the stream. You sit with your feet touching the flowing water and have some beverages and chilly chicken. It was all told to me in good jest, that I thought let me check it out!Sadhupul is a small detour from my next place, ie. Junga. So anyways it doesn't take much time for that detour, and if it works out well thought of having some chilly chicken with legs in the flowing water  Sadhupul was 10Kms ahead  Drive to Sadhupul Sadhupul 1 Km  We take a detour here. Right takes us to Junga, but we turned left to Sadhupul  Seems like a check gate  Many cars visible  Seems we are heading towards a beach!  We parked and got out  People were trying to have fun here? Dirty water flowing through the stream, shady food joints dotting the place, it looks definitely like a place to avoid, and not to consider even!! My dream of Chilly chicken with wet legs busted  !!Some girls trying to enjoy what is left of the stream, BTW it is Aasan river according to google!!    Check this out!! If you eat here......  My girls were unimpressed!!  Before my girls gave me weird looks and started teasing me for this disaster, I asked them to get inside the car to drive on ahead to our next destination. continued... |

This dirt track joins the road to Kandhaghat  We turn back and pass the river again to join the road to Junga  Sadhupul, a misadventure  A bridge getting constructed, it joins to Kandhaghat road as per google  We reached the check gate  As usual wrong sign board. It should be Junga Left and Chail Right!  At the fork it is Junga to the Left and Chail to the Right  We stopped for a while and the girls were all teasing me  I looked far away and was searching where the road on the other hill goes  Seems like an interesting route  continued... |

This bridge takes us to the other bank of Aasan river and then we continue to Shimla   Mehli 13kms and Shimla 21Kms  Mehli 3Kms. Its at Mehli we join the Shimla Bypass  We stopped by when we started seeing hills dotted with buildings      We reached Mehli, where we joined the Shimla Bypass.  We took a left here and drove towards Delhi Direction. Right here would have taken us after the Dhalli Tunnel. continued... |

This shortcut took us by surprise on the night we arrived from Delhi. Just for curiosity sake, we tried that route again in sunlight!! Right goes to Chota Shimla Shortcut to Circular road. Right here takes us to Dhalli tunnel  But the road to Dhalli Tunnel is blocked. No entry from 17:15 to 19:15  Also from 8:15 to 09:45  So we took Dhalli Byepass, the road on the right  Dhalli Bypass Right here is to Dhalli Tunnel. So we rejoin the road from Dhalli. Left to our destination  Left to Mashobra    Right to Club Mahindra  Club Mahindra Mashobra  Finally we reach the parking lot at 19:10 hours  Dhalli Bypass to Mashobra Closing odo reading for the day. 105Kms for the day  We went to dinner by 20:30 hours. The flying paratha Chef was performing. Nothing spectacular. Had the dinner buffet. A picture from the restaurant  By 21:30 reached the room, watched some TV and retired for the night. Not a bad day, drive was good, places not very significant. But the time together on a drive was worth it. The next day is May 2nd. Jr. PPGs birthday. So we decided to stick around mostly in Shimla Mall road. She almost had most of her birthdays celebrated outside home!! She was not too happy about it as she never gets to invite her friends over for her birthday. So there was always a second celebration for her!! Last edited by laluks : 19th January 2017 at 22:01. |

Idea for the day was to be in Shimla Mall Road, and take a lazy day walking around. Also it was Jr. PPGs birthday and we were in search for Pizzas. Starting Odo reading for the day  From the resort we reached the NH by 07:00  Shimla is 10Kms away  Here straight will take us to Dhalli Tunnel, Right is to Dhalli Bypass  Left before Dhalli Tunnel will take us to Shimla Bypass  Dhalli Tunnel  Sanjouli Chowk  We take left here to join circular road  The road on the right that climbs up is the road to Jakhu Temple  We go a little ahead and take an u turn at this circle  The drive from resort via Dhalli Tunnel till Jakhu Road Our first destination for the day was Jakhu Temple. A temple dedicated to Hanuman. Also it is the highest point. from there we get a good view of Shimla. There is a very tall statue of Hanuman here which is visible from almost many places in Shimla. Also the road is a very steep narrow one, adding to the fun. continued... |

| Re: Himachal Pradesh: Summer Holidays on the hills, exploring touristy spots & some hidden gems Day 03 : 2nd May 2016, Monday Mashobra - Jakhu Temple - Shimla Mall Road - Mashobra Here we take a left to Jakhu Temple  Jakhu Road  A steep left to Jakhu temple  The road which goes upwards to the right is to the temple  But it is almost impossible to take that turn. So we head a little ahead and make a U Turn before attempting that climb. There is a shop there. This fellow is not too sure whether we the self driven touristy guys will climb that sector!   We have to take the middle path   Steep narrow section  A view of the road  Finally we reach Jakhu Temple parking lot  The entrance to the Temple is to the right. The bright red ones.  There is a set of stairs to climb. Monkeys rule here. we were advised to hide our phones and cameras, and also to take off our specs. We did the same for our safety and the monkeys did not bother us. They were making high decibel sounds and chasing each other so fast that we got scared while climbing the stairs. Drive to Jakhu Temple Interesting drive, narrow steep sections, with gradients up to 24degrees. The U turns needed going back and forth as it was too narrow for the Eco Sport.
