Re: Five brother's winter trip to Leh - Ladakh

Thank you for the compliments dailydriver, luvtandon, procrj, behaln.

For those who are from southern part of India trip to Leh - Ladakh in their own ride is not easy, requires months planning. Driving all the way can be managed some how. But getting atleast 2 weeks leave, getting permission from "home ministry" are the biggest challenges.

Easier option is air route to Leh and then visiting places opting road trip or going for a trek.

Winter season, snowfall, amount of snow everywhere, very less crowd, good weather with bright sunshine added much required charm to otherwise normal trip of ours.

Re: Five brother's winter trip to Leh - Ladakh

Fantastic travelogue. Really felt like going there in winter. Since Im planning EBC latter this summer I can already imagine the issues due to cold and lack of oxygen. Images of Pangong Tso fully frozen are not as widely seen ! Great to also know you could spot some wildlife along the route. Doing Hemis in winter for Snow leopard is also a wild dream I have ! Some day.....

Thank you nilanjanray. You must plan winter trip to Ladakh. I am sure the beauty you capture through your lenses will be even better.

Re: Five brother's winter trip to Leh - Ladakh

Thank you (i) for the wonderfully narrated piece and (ii) also for sharing the pictures in detail.

I enjoyed the narrative and the pictures and this also helped me take a decision if I should be taking a 4 year old to Leh end of this month. Having seen the pictures - I now have the answer. No points for guessing. I am not taking the 4 year old.
