Did you take the Lucknow-Agra expressway? Where is the entry point from NH2? I will be going to HP this Pujo break and plan to go up to Kanpur on Day 1 just like you.

You can connect to Lucknow-Agra expressway just after Etawah. Keep your google maps on, it will show you the way. Till a month back the point, where you connect to the express way from Nh2 was under construction and one had to do a bit of soft roading to connect. Hope that's sorted out by now.
