Superb photos. Did you spot the tiger during the safari from DK gate or while on the Manathavady main road.

We were on the 5 km road going away from DK gate. The safari was from JLR, as I mentioned earlier.

Re: Monsoon magic - Kabini in the rains

Thought I'd add a panorama shot I took during the visit. This is actually my very first panorama attempt with a DSLR. I must say it is so much easier on a mobile phone! Even a casual closer inspection will show you lots of artefacts and stitching issues, but that is more because of my improper planning while taking the photos, rather than Photoshop. I think PS actually did a highly commendable job, given what it had to work with.

From a set of 8 photos, taken handheld at 200mm which is certainly not an ideal focal length for panoramas! But hey, I had to work with what I had.

Amazing pics Stryker !! you had me spell bound with your pics.
Sighting in the rains is itself is rare and what a day you have had in kabini!!
Wonderful.

BTW: The $ (i assume its a stylish S)watermark on the elephant eye(Zoom pic) had in in doubt for a second.

Sighting in rains is a rare feet indeed.

BTW: The $ watermark (assume it is S) on the elephant eye (zoom) got me for a second. Took me a minute to realize what it was

The $ is actually 'S' and 'J' superimposed, but I can see why it would have been confusing in that particular picture. On second look, it does looks like a 'vibhuti' mark, doesn't it?

Exactly my point sir ! Had a tusker encounter en-route ooty once. WE(wifey and me) were super excited on catching the glimpse of a wild tusker , later did we realize that it was domesticated and had a bell on him too.
Was wondering if this elephant was left back in forest by some establishment that couldn't afford it and your watermark looked like a much faded vibhuti mark !!

Hmm, I can see how this "vibhuti" watermark confused you given your experience! Maybe I should re-work my watermark and make it look more evident in cases like these. Something to think about for the next trip.
