Thanks swsumit for this brilliant travelogue.
Your travelogue gives a very lovely presentation of the Himalayan region in winters. The weather seems very pleasing throughout your journey, which made all the pictures very beautiful and refreshing.

Re: When I headed into the White Spiti

Awesome blog Sumit! Brought back a flood of memories from 2014 when we did a similar trip. That valley is truly desolate and gives you the feeling of being the only one on another planet in winter.

I still remember the panic that set in on the last morning in Kibber when our fortuner refused to start after sitting in the snow for 3 days.
It was a full 5 hours of complete entertainment for the villagers as they watched us ignorant morons from Bombay failing big in an attempt to start the Fortuner after burning a nice round hole thru the plastic skid plate (yes using a kerosene stove) and very nearly puncturing the fuel tank.

You have really motivated me to make this trip again. So thankyou!

Hi swsumit,

I see from your pictures that you had a Scorpio M2DICR for your trip. How did the vehcile perform especially on the inclines considering it is a 75 Hp engine.

Lovely travelogue and great photos! Curious. Why were you carrying a Wimberley for a Spiti trip? :-)
