So here comes the list -
- Any reason you opted to travel in Oct instead of summer months?
- I am seeing flight rates around 9K INR for Kathmandu - Lukla. Is this the price range usually?
- You had mentioned about insurance covering air ambulance. Any specific package for that, any details along with process, price please.
- How are toilet facilities enroute? Especially from point of view of females.
- Any pointers for guides/ sherpas & rates.
Please go through the FAQs that I have already compiled. Click here

I have answered your specific questions here:
- Any reason you opted to travel in Oct instead of summer months?
Ans: Not at all. The closest apt season was the upcoming months of Oct-Nov. The best time to take this trek is :
a.During the summer months - March, April and May.
b.After the onset of monsoon - September, October and November.
I opted for October because I did not want to wait until March-April. Apparently during the summer months, the skies are filled with haze. Oct-Nov is when you get clear crystal blue skies. But again, during the summer months you will get to see climbers, making the summit push. Both the seasons are good.

- I am seeing flight rates around 9K INR for Kathmandu - Lukla. Is this the price range usually?
Ans: Yes. 9k both ways. Kathmandu-Lukla-Kathmandu

- You had mentioned about insurance covering air ambulance. Any specific package for that, any details along with process, price please.
Ans: World Nomads are the best in this business. You can check their website for more details. Ensure that your policy covers evacuation up-to 5000m.

- How are toilet facilities enroute? Especially from point of view of females.
Ans: The toilet situations can be difficult at times, as in the tea houses they are generally not Western-style, rather just a hole in the ground instead of a toilet bowl. You will also need to be prepared to use the great outdoors at times. You will find multiple small settlements along the way, but at some places it gets very remote. It is better to get yourself relieved at the tea houses (be it after breakfast or after lunch).

- Any pointers for guides/ sherpas & rates.
Ans: I will PM you our sherpa's contact details. You can check with him directly.

Re: Everest Base Camp Trek - Nepal

Many congratulations on your successful conquest of the EBC Syed !

Not an easy achievement to accomplish imo ! My nephew had done the EBC trek in 2014 when there were storms/ avalanches elsewhere ( not in their route) leading to some casualties.

I am an avid reader of summit travelogues & i must admit your's pictravelogue made a wonderful read, the entire trek just unfolded right in front !

Kudos !!!
