Thanks for the wonderful write-up. Bhutan is in my list and hope to do a road trip to this country.

If the car is in a company's name (due to company leased car), will it require any additional document before entering Bhutan?

It is a brilliant travelogue @Chaand & all aspects very well captured. What I liked most about this is the fact that you have kept a nice balance between the Pics & the Write-up. The inclination more towards the pics 'course.

It felt like a nice adventurous movie while reading through.

Yes, Border Road Engg Services has a dedicated Project in Bhutan which goes by the name of Project DANTAK, which you would know by now.

I stayed in HAA for 2 years, 1993-1995.
I was young but looking at the pics it brought so many memories.
The BRO Canteen you talked about, I believe that place was CHAPCHA.

At the porch of the hotel we found this contraption. We had seen it at a few places in Paro and before that as well. This, my friends is the national heating system in Bhutan. Doesn't use electricity. Instead wood is burnt and the smoke is channelized to a chimney. On top of the burner is a can full of hot water. It feels good to sit around it in the cold Bhutan climate.

This is also known as "Bukhari" - It's widely used in Indian Cold climatic regions. In Badrinath, Joshimath areas, J&K etc.

Really arresting travelogue, one day I will also go to Bhutan in my own car. Thanks for the inspiration. I just drank your entire trip and it's such a heady one. Expecting more trips from you.
