Re: Roadtrip: Bangalore to Bhutan (16 Days - 6400KMS -5 States - One International Destination)

Day 15 – November 25- Vizag to Hyderabad
Accomodation – Wife’s house
Distance Covered – 698 KMS
Start time – 10 am
End time – 12.30 am

Oyo provided us with some yummy breakfast. We started around 10am and on the way stopped by the Submarine INS Kurusura museum at the RK beach hoping to get an entry in to the museum. Unfortunately, the museum opens only after 11am. So, we spent some time outside the huge submarine and exited the town.

As we did not want to face the lunch disaster experience once again, this time my wife & I had per-researched for some Andhra mess in Rajahmundry. We found this place called Nanduri mess in Rajahmundry town. So, with our next destination in mind, I drove non-stop till Nanduri mess in Rajahmundry. We reached around 1pm. It was a homely treat with excellent Andhra meals finally, satisfying my Andhra meals dreams

After sufficient pit stops , we reached Hyderabad at 12:30 AM. We felt at home already and had a peaceful sleep.

Day 16 –November 26 - Hyderabad to Bangalore
Distance Covered – 575 KMS
Start Time – 12.30 pm
End time – 8.30 pm

We woke up relaxed today as we already felt at home. The sense of achievement kicked in the minute we landed in Hyderabad. We discussed about our journey over a cup of coffee that morning and couldn’t believe it had been 15 days we were on the road. My parents were extremely proud and happy for having been part of this adventurous trip of a lifetime.

After having a good meal, we started off to Bangalore. With sufficient breaks and a relaxed speed, we reached Yelahanka at 8.30pm . This was a moment filled with emotions of happiness, relief, achievement and pride. We thanked god for being with us throughout the trip and ending our trip without a single calamity or untoward incident.

Great trip and nice pictures. And ~90000 for 4 people for 15 days, wow man that's fantastic. I definitely thought it would cost more.

Glad to hear the Ciaz did well. May there be more such trips with the car!!

Re: Road-trip in a Ciaz: Bangalore to Bhutan (16 Days, 6800 km, 5 States)

Wow! Amazing travelogue!

You have averaged 600+km on the ciaz every day, with 4 onboard and with a lot of luggage. How did you feel the comfort was? Was it tiresome after a day's drive?

I have driven my ciaz a maximum of 700km a day and I did not feel any discomfort. But that was on 4 lane highways with less than 8 hours of driving time .

And looking at your statistics, it is amazing that you have actually spent less than 3rs per km for fuel. Excellent fuel economy from the ciaZ.

Beautiful trip covered. You didn't use any camera there but didn't matter at all. Pictures are very vivid and help describing your story properly.

I made a hurricane trip last year there for Honda Drive to Discover - https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/trave...ml#post4285937 (In the land of the thunder dragon - Driving Hondas from West Bengal to Bhutan!)

This is beautiful. Memories for a lifetime, I tell you. I've done hundreds of road-trips with my parents. Now, Dad is no more while Mom is too old for long-duration road-trips, but just viewing pictures of the ones we've done earlier and talking about them makes us smile.

Your folks look so happy in the pics! Really touched as for me, it's always been Parents = no.1, God = no.2.

Nicely written, rated 5 stars! This surely looked like an amazing trip!

Did you have any issues with the Ciaz scraping anywhere? Did you run on the stock oils, since you mention sub-zero temperatures? It also looks like you had R15 sized tyres, so that would have helped too?

Beautiful report there DAART

Just want to know whether you made stay bookings prior to start of the trip or booked it as and when you were approaching destinations.

Also I see you have mostly taken OYO ones, how are they generally for the family, WRT hygene, food and location.

Am planning for a 8 day family road trip and was wondering whether I have to book prior or can take it on the way.

Amazing travelogue. I hail from vijayawada. For the past 4 years the road widening work is going on. Many people are finding it very difficult to cross vijayawada from one end to other. The problem starts at gollapudi where one needs to enter the bypass road and continue in the small lanes till you enter eluru road.
This stretch takes one and half hours during peak traffic. And yeah driving in vijayawada will test your patience because of two wheelers cutting across the lanes.
It is a great feeling to travel with parents and spouse together. Thanks for sharing.

An amazing travelogue with excellent photographs. Rated Five stars. Thanks for Sharing.

Fuel cost 16930!!
Was it because of cheap fuel in Bhutan? If we consider 60/- (November 2017) Per litre for fuel, you got an FE of 25 per litre. That's an amazing figure. Or am I missing something?

great writeup, felt like i was with you on the trip.

Hats off to your parents too for being a sport for such a long journey, and kudos to you and your wife, one of the best gifts that can be given to parents.

Read every word of it and loved every bit of it. What a wonderful family you have (including that lovely car) and what a grand trip that was.

Found this bit strange, good you managed it well without getting into any incident.

Great trip and equally nice write up. I'm just curious, any additional insurance policy required in Bhutan? I'm asking since I think the normal insurance policies are valid only in India
