Thanks buddy. Yes, Garmin works fantastic in Europe and Middle-East.
Was you residing in Oman? We go to Oman frequently for motorcycle ride specially to Khasab.

Here is a video of one of my solo ride to Khasab, Oman couple of years back.

Great travelog coupled with good pictures. I too had bought a Gamin navigation set from Oman (which used to work like a dream there), but unfortunately found google maps far far better to use in India. Hence the garmin set is packed in its box resting in peace. Last year, I did Kol - Del - Kol drive. On the return, we stayed at Hotel Kaushik, Varanasi (which is bang on the highway (Del - Kol flank). We were keen to see the evening Ganga aarti. You have very correctly mentioned, with two groups performing the aarti at the same time, the mixing of various sounds on the loudspeakers was not a very good experience. The manager at hotel Kaushik marked a route on my phone which lead us through BHU campus and to a mall where we parked our car in the underground parking. From there we took an erick to the ghat.

Rating a well deserved 5*.

Crisp travelogue, MJP, though I felt there's a paucity of pics & videos here, considering the many gigabytes you've captured. Shall look forward to your adding in more individual pics, collages & videos on this thread.

Sorry about your experiences with hotels, especially at Greater Noida and Delhi, and your acquiring the infamous Delhi belly. I was feeling bad, but then you declined my offer to come and stay at my home...

All in all, you folks seem to have had an enjoyable driving holiday, though some of your destination targets were not achieved - such as having to stay back at Solan instead of getting to Shimla. Routing through Dhanolti and back to Dehradun from Mussoorie took a lot longer than anticipated, due to the landslide and unseasonal rain.

A detailed travelogue with amazing photographs. Thanks for Sharing.

I do travel a lot but somehow not able to trust OYO rooms concept. After reading about your poor experience with OYO, I think, I would keep myself away from OYO rooms.

I used to reside at Oman (Salalah, Ibri followed by Muscat) from 2005 till 2016. Used to work for the NISSAN dealer there in the sales department. Presently am based out of Kolkata.

Milind Sir,
Rating the thread a full deserved 5 star. The best thing of a travelogue is that it takes you along with its flow and your's is no exception. Point by point narration of the turn of events was amazing to read.

Great to know that the ladies had a gala time while at Sarojini's. My wife is a bong and whenever we go to Delhi she makes a point to visit Sarojini's for her shopping. I am curious to know whether you have done the Arunachal trip?

Best Regards
Mrinal

Such a well-narrated travelogue to go with some crisp photographs. And when one adds videos to the travelogue, he takes the reader along. One could actually feel your journey.

With respect to the hotel booking apps, GoIbibo beats them all hands down. Had tried OYO once on GT Road near Ludhiana and the experience was horrible. Uninstalled the app then and there. GoIbibo has been real good.

A long road trip helps in experiencing varied culture, cuisine and lifestyle of this great land, India. You have been one lucky man to be accompanied by your family, Sir.

A quick question, are the videos of your street in Kolkata and the ones of the highways shot with different cameras? First 2 videos show a different speedometer.

P.S.- Rated a well deserved 5 stars.

Regards,
Pratyush

Beautifully narrated a complex trip in simple words. The flair of narrative was very engrossing. Keep traveling and sharing such beautiful experience.

Thanks buddy. Yes, first 2 videos were recorded using GoPro Hero6, another one by Garmin.

Please ref to post # http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/travel...ml#post4396425

If you watch the video, it will be more clear.

Thanks again.

Thanks sir, for your valuable suggestions all through the trip.
I know sir, I would have considered myself more fortunate if I could spend more time with you. But you know, not all was on my hand...)))

Thanks dada once again,
Best regards
