Nice travelogue - the photos brought back memories of the cities I visited multiple times during my tenure in USA.
If you are planning a trip back, I would suggest you to try and visit the southwest & pacific northwest for national & state parks.

Solo travel has a charm of its own, more so the ability to change plans and itinerary as per your convenience.
