Re: Sailed through Lahaul & Spiti in hatchbacks, sedans & suv's

An engrossing travelogue from you as usual, spiced up by the pictures and videos through the lenses of the others in the group. This was one of those epic trips, and contrary to my usual observation of such roadtrips by large groups, you folks gelled so well together, and understood each others' strengths and weaknesses so closely, that both my wife and I were impressed.

It's been many months since we've travelled, and I hardly get to drive my cars for work currently. This was an excellent opportunity to take out the Hawk-On-Fours® for a 'lung opener', and it crossed another milestone on the odometer.

In the process, we had such a fun time with all of you, stopping over for food at both Amrik Sukhdev Dhaba at Murthal and Mayur Dhaba at Karnal. As they say, you can take a Bengali person away from a great 'adda', but you can't take away the 'adda' gene from a Bengali!

It was a pleasure to fix up both your cars quickly, but the subsequent 'adda' session was again superlative!

wonderful tlog Samba. We had traveled to more or less same route only a week or so before you folks and missed the chandra taal due to bad weather but kunzum pass because of the snowfall a day earlier was something else.

Re: Sailed through Lahaul & Spiti in hatchbacks, sedans & SUVs

That was very brave to do this circuit in sedans & hatches, Ive done this circuit twice once from each side, i.e Simla kaza & Manali Kaza. Both I did in a Scorpio, which gave me jitters but you guys topped it in sedans & hatches is definitely brave. All in all a nice travelogue with lovely pics & videos. I noticed there was a Thar in your convoy How did it do here?

Great Travelogue once again Fantastic contribution from SayataC & SouraC as well to add that extra bit of icing on the cake baked by Samba.

Just made me nostalgic of Our Ladakh Trip back in 2015 !! Just that some cars and some people have been replaced. The rest of the essence remains the same. Rating it a well deserved 5 Star !!

Sharing a Group picture, at Pangong then :

Thanks a ton everyone. Am overwhelmed by each of your appreciation.

On Bengali New years day (Poila Baisakh) we had a pre-Spiti meet. I would like to share few pics from that meet.

A cake to celebrate our drive, a month prior to the travelling date.

The hospitality from Delhites like you seriously made us feel Delhi like our second home. We actually had an awesome time together. Was feeling sad while leaving Delhi.

For the Thar it was like Sachin Tendulakar batting at Whankhede stadium!
This terrain was just like the Thar's home ground!

From the below pic, one can get an idea how well the Thar gelled with this raw terrain!

I was hoping that from T H A R, this terrain is after its home & no one feels out of place at home

Thar & wanderers are inseparable LOL.

Losar Kaza Road is actually fun to drive on. A night's stay at Losar should be considered on the itinerary if possible its a small picturesque town surrounded by mountains with very friendly people

In fact I enjoyed my stay at Losar more than Kaza, very peaceful very quiet

Couldn't agree more that Losar is more picturesque, serene and peaceful as compared to Kaza. Although Kaza is in no manner less but being the administrative headquarter of Spiti region, the town holds substantial population. And with sizeable number of accommodation available, Kaza is thronged by large number of tourists during the peak season months of July, August and September. I visited Kaza in late October with only a handful tourists around, as such the town appeared pretty quite and peaceful. But nonetheless the small settlement of Losar was more appealing.

Picturesque Kaza-Losar route.

Wow! A well deserved 5 stars for this travelogue.

I've always liked your travelogues, the way you write them feels like we're travelling with you. And of-course, amazing pictures. I specially loved the picture of the mountains which looked like Silhouette, it's a proper wallpaper material!

And hats-off for completing this travelogue within a week of completing the journey. I don't know how you do this every time. I'm still struggling to complete my Bhutan travelogue which I did in May.

Re: Sailed through Lahaul & Spiti in hatchbacks, sedans & SUVs

Everytime I think a particular route is not possible for a sedan driver, Mr Samba blows the thought right out of the window.

Amazing, mindblowing travelogue. Spent the good part of an hour ogling at the pictures, as also your capability to hold the narration together. "Samba meets Samba" was hilarious. The Q&A on preparation for the trip at the very end was also amazing. Gotto do this stretch quickly now.

And yes, it was a pleasure to meet you and the team at Samya's place.

And finally I got time to read the entire travelogue. Looks like you had a lovely time. Each and every car is looking beautiful. I am bookmarking this log as my guide to Spiti. Wonder Samba. Rated 5*
