A enjoyable ride from Bengaluru to kollimalai, Tamilnadu. 2 days, 700 KM of ride in a wonderful weather.

There are few resorts, hotels to stay but vegetarian food is little challenging, survived on idly / dosas.

We started our journey on Sat, 9Jun at 5.30 AM from Bangalore. We decided on driving sedately and rewched the karavalli the foothill by 1 PM with all pitstops, breakfast and lunch break. By the time we reach the hotel on hill top it was around 2.30. we had a quick break and started touring around (places are listed in a photo below). Saw quite a few place till next day 11 AM and started back to Bengaluru. Evening 7 we were back at home.

A great place to rest. I love the trek down the 1000 steps to Agaya Gangai, then swim towards the falls in ice cold water and then the falls itself. So rejuvenating. Hope you did get down to the falls for some fun.

Yes we did go down. It was an awesome place, but did not get into water due to time constraint. Definitely planning one more trip with family / friends.

My bad. Just saw the photo. Didn't realise the water level has come down. It usually will be closer to the base of iron pillars. You have to swim to the falls not walk like in your picture.

I like the soup they sell near the temple.

Pardon my ignorance, is Kolli Malai same as Kolli Hills? I've heard of Kolli Hills a lot, and thinking of driving there over a weekend and probably stay there for a night.

Would you please share the road conditions if someone has to take a car? Also how are the hotels over there?

Yes kollimalai = kolli hills. Road condition is excellent from Bengaluru till the hill top. The hotel we stayed, I don't remember the name, was not good. Silverline resort seems to be good. You can buy good jackfruit & pineapple there. Don't miss it.
