You missed the opportunity to take panda to Konkan, 4 ferries then and there. Some pristine beaches north of Sawantwadi is a bonus.

Always a next time

and I was really wondering because I knew well you had covered that in your Panda that also knows Kung-fu.

Short and crisp lot that is Lalu. From a location often seen all over but those pictures bring about an awesome change, a fresh one!

Re: S-Cross'd : A Ferry Ride and Jog Falls

Great pics there laluks! Such trips, with impromptu plans are the best.

It was nice to see Kungfu Panda in such picturesque locations. Despite the gates not being open, the Jog Falls still were quite a sight, which you managed to capture so nicely.

Keep it up and happy mile munching with the Kungfu Panda.

Whenever we drive out we try to complete a loop, so the hole is inevitable that ways

I will try to post some pictures of the ferry rides. I have no clue when I will complete that logs, one from 2014, and the other one as latest as last week

Thanks Parag. Jog was an excuse, the joy is in the drive.

Re: S-Cross'd : A Ferry Ride and Jog Falls

As promised some pictures from MSH4 drive and ferry Ops.

Plan always will be to start at Tiracol, which is the MH/Goa Border anddrive all the way up till Mandwa/Revas and then return, hugging the coast line of MH aka Konkan coast.

We told this guy our plan in 2014 (20th December 2014). His eyes popped out, frankly we were equally surprised at our madness . That was a drive plan of 11 days.

Kungfu Panda starting his journey in 2018 (13th September 2018). The drive plan was for three days!! The doggy was nowhere to be seen! He has had enough of madness I believe, and that too three days!!

Customary trip to the Tiracol Ferry Point. This ferry connects to Goa coast line and you can drive all the way till Kanyakumari if you so wish. We have done once all the way till Kannur!

Re: S-Cross'd : A Ferry Ride and Jog Falls

Ferry 4.
Dighi to Agardanda

Civvy did not take this ferry due to 3 reasons.
1. This ferry was started after our visit in 2014, infact the last day of 2014 as I was told.
2. The ferry point was from Rohini to cross to Agardanda till then, a very treacherous route to reach the ferry at Rohini. Main reason to relocate it to Dighi.
3. We had to reach Lonavala for the night from Dighi, to our Club mahindra property, so crossing over was not in the plan. We returned to the other side via road 3 days later to complete the loop

Re: S-Cross'd : A Ferry Ride and Jog Falls

Great travelogue, all done and dusted in a day. I thought my trip over the weekend of around 1200 kms was an achievement, now its put in perspective

Re: S-Cross'd : A Ferry Ride and Jog Falls

Interesting log, I cannot imagine driving 1k kms in a day!

Can someone in your family share their feedback of time spent in the rear seat of the Scross? It would be useful to know how it works back there.

I am also curious to know what happens in case of any incident on such a ferry (God forbid!) I had this thought a few years ago when we (with our Jazz) were aboard the ferry near Dapoli (halfway through). That was not the best time or place to have such thoughts in the first place; to my credit I did manage to keep them to myself till we landed.
Is it covered by insurance or there is any caveat stating cars should always be driven on roads

Regarding SCross and rear seat, please check the reaction by Sanket and HVK who were on my Central India drive on my FB post

Regarding Ferry and Insurance, it is a part of the road network So in principle all should be covered, unless it is a private ferry or so I believe. In that case ferry should be having insurance which will take care of incidents to its users. May be complex though, it will be covered for sure
