Wow this thread is surely getting interesting, I am sure when we combine the strength of more members we can cover all the major cities in the world.

Good to know many TBHPians have covered so many places. Hope we can keep this thread growing with more people chipping in.

Given my overseas travel destinations to date are already covered off by other members, and there hasn't been any mention of my local, I'll go with that. So, any questions on:

- Sydney
- Melbourne
- Cairns
- Adelaide

I think the Roads and Discipline in Denmark is remarkable. UK (at least in Leeds) it wasn't as good as rest of western Europe and Italy was marginally better than India.

Abroad:

Countries Visited: US (MA, LA, Ohio)

Countries Driven: US. I have driven in MA, LA and Ohio (Milford).

Best Country(ies): Not formed an opinion yet. Impossible to do so after visiting only one foreign country.

Best Country to Drive in: Difficult to say now. Driving experience in the US was good. But then there are many great places and roads in India too.

India:

States Visited: Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Pondichery, Goa, Karnataka

States Driven: Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh

Best State: Kerala. Green, green and more green. Rivers, backwaters, narrow and winding roads. People are friendly and warm. And you are never far from a beach.

Best State to Drive: For the great views and involving drives - Kerala. For the roads - Maharashtra. Generally good roads, quite safe in most of the places.

Re: Countries / States Visited and your experience

Abroad:
I have been to 12 countries in total which include
1. US - San-Diego, Peoria , Chicago, Houston and New Orleans
2. Canada - Hamilton
3. Britain - Liverpool ( I am a big fan of LiverpoolFC)
4. France - Paris
5. Singapore - I stay here
6. Malaysia - KL
7. Thailand - Krabi, Bankok, Phuket
8. Indonesia - Bintan
9. New Zealand - Christchurch
10. Japan - Kobe (Hyogo) and Akashi
11. Australia - Darwin
12. Nepal - Kathmandu

However considerable stay and drive was only in US, Japan and Singapore.
In US
1.The best drive in US was I5 from LA to San-Francisco.
2. I loved driving from New-Orleans to Galliano. Amazing scenic drive on highway-1.

In Japan i loved the road from Kobe to Hiroshima. Highway -2 or something, don't remember the number correctly. Amazing hilly road all the way, with views of the ocean in between.
In Singapore : I like the ECP the most, although not a very long drive.

Special Mention ** - Although I have not driven in New-Zealand. My company's local agent and his wife took me to a drive around Christchurch. It is the most scenic drive I have ever seen, just beautiful. I saw a lot of people doing it on their bicycles. **

Favorite country is still INDIA, and will always be.

India:
I have also been fortunate enough to be in all 28 states in India and been to all union territories as well. (From Birth till today, courtesy my father being in armed forces)

I have driven on bike in 18 states Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Orrissa, West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Delhi, Haryana, Gujrat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal and J&K.
Few trips worth mentioning.
1. Pune - bangalore - Wayanad - Pune,
2. Pune - Sikkim - Pune,
3. Hyderabad - delhi - hyderabad,
4. Pune - Leh - Pune

I have also driven my car in Northern India Haryana, Delhi, Punjab, Himachal, Rajasthan and Uttaranchal.

I love the following stretches on highways.

1. NH-8/NH79 between Jaipur and Udaipur,
2. NH-4 between Pune to Bangalore,
3. East Coast road from Chennai to Pondicherry.
4. NH-1 From Delhi to Amritsar.

Worst Roads have been in Uttar Pradesh, specially the state highways.
