Re: Diwali Ride to Polo Forest, GJ – Exploring 15th century architecture

Very interesting to find these hidden jewels so close to Ahmedabad. More so because there seem to be no visitors and the area looks serene.

Several years back I found a similar gem in Himachal Pradesh - a place called Masrur https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Masrur_Temples. I chanced upon them while exploring and photographing the Kangra Valley Railway.

Well, it is not really a new find as such. Just that most of the pictures where clicked quite early in the day. We reached the place around 9 and given that we went on Diwali, most of the folks would have been busy with the family.

By the time we were riding back (around 10:30 AM) the place was getting crowded.

R-Six, that was a very nice travelogue. Great photos!, although the narrow depth of field when photographing structures can be avoided.

Often times, these impromptu getaways are the best. This is the great thing about the Tbhp forums, we get to see some really amazing hidden gems, through travelogues of enthusiastic drivers and riders, such as yourself.

It always amazes me, the precision planning and engineering required to build these temples, without any of the IT tools that are at the disposal of planners and designers nowadays.

Thanks for sharing and revealing this hidden gem, for people like me from the south of the country. Keep traveling and sharing.

Cheerio!

Yeah, I only realized it when I transferred these images to my laptop. I'm going to stick to the normal mode while capturing such huge structures.

I belong to KL-8 too.

Ride safe,
R-Six
