Your words resonate with my thoughts too. It was great to see the effort the forest and tourism dept. have put in to promote the conservation and tourism in the state. All the best for your trip.

The tracks lined with tall trees were surely a view to behold.

For the icing I would have had to jump into the river to save myself as I was already on the track to take that picture.

Thanks a lot @TGO for penning this down, I hail from UP and have been extensively travelling the Terai terrain around Siddharthnagar for years now, I know about Dudhwa and have seen signboards of Katarniya Ghat multiple times but never thought those areas could offer so much, would definitely be on my list for next time

Enjoyed the travelogue a lot! Am off to Dudhwa again end of this month. Hoping for at least one cat, but even if I don't encounter any, the misty forest should be beautiful :-)

Btw, are you sure that is an alligator? Looks like a huge gharial. Alligators are not found in India last time I checked.
