Nice travelogue and amazing pics! Coastal Karnataka is always a delight to drive on. It's amazing that you have managed to travel with 2 cars without compromising on time or distance constraints

Goa->Belgaum->Bagalkot->Devar Hippargi->Jevargi->Gulbarga->Humnabad->Zaheerabad->Hyd

At Bagalkot, we took left as you know major work at Raichur is still going on.

After crossing bridge over Krishna river before Kolhar, Google maps showed us to take SH124, but due to construction work road was closed. So, maps re-routed when we went straight, but we took U-turn after about 2 km to join SH124 again.

Roads are almost good with occasional diversions.

Re: Summer drive to Hampi, Dandeli, Murdeshwar & Goa in two Balenos

What a write up! Super writing skill with some stunning pictures made the post just awesome & perfect. Great work.

Hampi during summer is not a good choice, but who cares if one loves driving. I did a solo trip to Hampi during December last week. Even during December I was not feeling cold like it should be, rather it was a bit hot. I can only imagine what's the scene now in mid may.

Dandeli looks absolutely beautiful; and going straight to my wannabe list. These destinations near western ghats/Goa will be great fro driving from Hyderabad once the highway is ready.

Your Hampi pictures reignite the memories of my solo road trip to Hampi (Which I never did before and had been in my bucket list for a long time.) So, sharing some pictures from my side.

Thanks once again for such an wonderful log.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, @cp171185.

Hampi experiences a hot and dry steppe climate. The summers bring soaring high temperatures and therefore, March to June is not the best time to visit. A guide told us temperature will be 1-2 degrees more at the site compared to the town, and the town temperature was 40 degrees when we visited, so you can imagine.

Yes, world is short. A couple of pics look to be taken at the same spot, and another pic for you .

Excellent write up! i was born and brought up around Hampi and the photo's just took me back to sweet childhood days. The photos all look amazing.

Yes summers are pretty hot in Hampi. Now that i am settled in bangalore and work in AC offices its very difficult to even survive in that heat without getting dehydrated!

Had been to Dandeli last december with friends and stayed in one of the cottages at sterling river resort. The cottages were OK. We enjoyed swimming in the pool though. One of the cottages had rats visiting in the night for some snacks as the cottages are out in the open.

The mornings were beautiful with river kali flowing calmly! we even saw a crocodile taking a lazy swim up stream.

The night were very silent and we really enjoyed the serenity

We also tried 1 KM 1 Hr rafting and since there was good amount of water it was fun.

Thank you very much @ant_vas. Good to know about it.

We too had a bitter experience the day we checked in. AC was not working in one of the rooms, and bathroom was not clean. When we complained, initially the staff tried to be rude but later apologized for the inconvenience caused (maintained by young guys). The next day we were provided another room, which was good.

It is relatively a new resort, so everything's looking good now, but they cannot throw caution to the wind in terms of maintenance and service.

That rafting pic is unbelievable.

Nice travelogue KSK.
Have another trip on cards for covering scuba diving in Murudeswar, Casino and beach activities like parasailing in Goa.

You have a good eye for pics, plus the angle and alignment is so good, like the ones of Hampi and Gopuram. I'd say some of them need a bigger frame to view them perfectly. For the elevated shots (like the entire Gopuram landscape), did you use a drone to capture them?

Thank you @ninjatalli.
Most of the pics were taken using my mobile phone, and wide angle gives architectural structures a different perspective. Those elevated shots were taken from the 18th floor of the Gopuram.
