अजीब उलझन है मेरी

बढती हुई उम्र कहती है
अब सीरियस हुआ जाये!
जबकि
खत्म होती उम्र कहती है,
कुछ मस्ती और कर ली जाये!!

Brought back memories of my ride on X-Scream years ago. Actually, when we reached the top, they had closed all 3 rides due to high wind. We loitered around and came back when we saw them doing some trial runs. They were testing the rides with 0 load/people. I volunteered (read, begged) to allow me to sit on the X-Scream and somehow they obliged. I have videos of me riding alone on X-Scream with all my friends cheering me on and screaming their lungs out. There are (at least, were) no seat belts when we sit in the ride, just a T shaped metal rod that rises from the base of the seat upto your waist level. I had the most thrill when I let go of my hands on the drop and got real feel of a jerky downfall. Other than this 'T' shaped rod, there was nothing between me and road some 90 or 100+ floors below. I remember going back to the counter where they were testing/controlling the ride to tell them while it was a great ride, it was short (since they were testing, they gave me like some 6-7 turns). I also got a souvenir photo made of the same. It was one hell of a thrill-ride.

We were a group of 8 friends, converging in Vegas from 3 difference places. Rented a huge Nissan SUV, did all the touristy things in and around Vegas. Drove to Grand Canyon, stopped over at Hoover and Lake Mead on the way.

Those were some days! :-)

It all depends on how much you gamble and loose and thus how quickly your money runs out!

We visited Las Vegas in 2009, so quite some time ago. I had to attend a business conference. Initially my wife did not want to come along. She was just not interested in Las Vegas. In the end she did come along and we spend three days and nights there prior to my conference.

We thought it was an amazing experience. Neither of us are gambler, but there is just so much to see and do. Make sure you book some shows as well. We also managed to visit the Hoogerland during one of the days. We rented a car, which everybody told us we would not need. But Las Vegas is huge and all the properties have massive parking garages, so we found it very easy and convenient for getting around quickly.

After three days you won’t have seen and done everything, but we felt at some point in time all this fake stuff starts to wear you down.

Enjoy!

Indeed. I've been to Vegas twice by now for CES and I must say, you have captured a lot lot more than I have seen in those 2 days. Perhaps the legwork at the event had me worn out and all I wanted was a watering hole.

Speaking of water, the fountain at the Bellagio is amazing. in 2018, perhaps because Intel was going big in CES, they had their sound and light show at the Bellagio with hundreds of drones. It was the most spectacular show I had seen.

As of Feb '23, Vegas now has the Mega ''Sphere'' which is a spectacle in itself too.
