re: The Everest of Motorheads: Umling LA & Ladakh Circuit

Day 12 (04/05/2022) Manali- Jaipur.

We did a lot of shopping in Manali.
We had a sound sleep in a comfortable and cozy hotel.

We woke up at 0700 and left Manali at 0800.
I knew that Kullu's down journey was not going to be that easy. I was scared of crazy Volvo bus drivers on Kullu to Bilaspur road. However, the road is improved drastically and the Kullu Bypass road is used by, most of the heavy vehicles.

To Kullu

We reached Kullu and stopped for water rafting. The flow of water into the river was mediocre, but we still did the river rafting. We had fun.

After Water Rafting, we went to a woolen factory outlet. We spent more than two hours at the factory outlet. We started getting down from the Kullu. We didn't have any plan for our journey. We just wanted to drive back to Gujarat. We bid farewell to the Mountains and got to the plains of Punjab.

During our drive to Srinagar, after Pathankot, most of the driving was done by me and Paresh. We didn't utilize Archan and Joyus at all. We kept them reserved for the drive-in plains. Archan took the wheel and started cruising. We got confused and got on the newly built but not functional Trans–Haryana Expressway. We drove on that road for more than 20km and then realized we were alone on the road. We drove back and got out of the E-way. We took directions from some of the Locals and started chasing Rohtak. After Rohtak the road was great. We took some rest at some of the dhaba. We carried on at reached Jaipur Early morning.

Day 13 (05/05/2022) Jaipur - Anand.

We were at Jaipur at 0400 in the morning.
There was no sense staying in a hotel. We kept changing the drivers and carried on. We were not in hurry. We were taking our sweet time, still, we reached at Udaipur at 1400. We toyed with the idea of staying at Udaipur and celebrating the successful trip. However, we were just 4 hours away from home. We had an amazing lunch at one of the famous highway hotels in Udaipur.

After lunch, we pushed on and reached home at 1900. It was the end of an epic journey. We didn't use our buffer day and came home one day earlier than the plan. Our Families were surprised to see us home that early.

We were happy to be back in one piece without any major incident or issue after a 5000+ km drive.

Thank You

Re: The Everest of Motorheads: Umling LA & Ladakh Circuit

Just completed reading a book on Ladakh!
It took me nearly a couple of hours to read this travelogue! The places where you stopped to enjoy the vistas of nature, I paused too, to enjoy the pics and I could actually connect with you guys on how you must have enjoyed!

Rated a well deserved 5*.

A high five to all four of you from 2015!

Crisp, detailed, concise and very very engaging. Felt like reading very interesting and engaging book.

Its bit challenging to plan and execute When for one member its 5th time but for others its their first visit to Ladakh region.

Thanks, Vtach. Yes, it was an amazing trip and we enjoyed it to the fullest.

More than 500 trucks waiting on the road for more than 12 hours is indeed a waste of human hours, irrespective of reasons. That's my personal opinion. Trucks are part of the supply chain and the unhindered movement of these trucks is very important for the mountain region.
