Absolutely. From Hyderabad it now makes sense to hit Aurangabad via Sholapur-Osmanabad-Beed, drive all the way on Aurangabad bypass till Takli interchange, get onto Samruddhi Mahamarg and reach Shirdi.

And as expected, this itself is the fastest route now as per Googlemaps. You will get to experience this expressway for say ~74 km one way.

The origin is common point on Hyderabad Sholapur route and destination is Shirdi. The common point is where one can decide not to take Sholapur route and take the older route via Daund/Ahmednagar etc.

The route via Beed and Aurangabad is certainly better. I used it a year ago, and it took me only 9 hours to reach Aurangabad airport road from Hyderabad, with halts for breakfast and a coffee break near Beed. But from there to Shirdi took me 2 hours because the Sammrudhi Expressway was not there back then.

Also, there is no need to go up till Solapur. Instead one can turn right after Naldurg and go directly to Osmanabad via Tuljapur---this is an undivided road, but around 30 kms shorter than via Solapur.

Long back, we used to go via Solapur, Tembhurni and Karmala to Shirdi via Ahmednagar. But the road from Tembhurni to Shirdi is reported to be bad in recent times. I have no idea of the Daund route.

Considering that the other route via Sholapur bypass adds another 40 km (and not just 30) the short cut where you hit Tuljapur directly makes sense. I would otherwise avoid this during festive season as it passes closely or nearly into Tuljapur town. The other route is fully 4 lane albeit a small diversion.

The reason to introduce the common point between Sholapur and Shirdi (at Sholapur) was because the Daund Ahmednagar route has also been popular but inconsistent too. The inconsistency comes from the fact that the route around Daund and Ahmednagar hasn't been great and there is a Railway crossing too.

Also, whether one takes Samruddhi Mahamarg or not, even the other route from Aurangabad to Shirdi via Gangapur Vaijapur is in super good shape.
- Aurangabad to Shirdi via Samruddhi - 105 km & 90 mins max
- Aurangabad to Shirdi via SH - 112 km & 120 mins max
