Re: Ladakh Nature Photography : Photologue

Such a wonderful set of wildlife photos you've here.
Did you know beforehand where you could get all these beauties in Ladakh?

Thanks Rudra. Yes I did have an idea about the locations for the various species beforehand and the route was plotted accordingly. Still happened to miss out on a lot of species, hopefully one day again will do another trip trying to cover those.

Re: Ladakh Nature Photography : Photologue

Wonderful travel account and mind blowing photos. My favourites from the lot will be the Eagle Owl, the little owl, the fight of the marmots and finally the wild cat series. Seen birds in flight before but cats in flight would be now a new standard it seems. Catching wildlife in their natural habitat elevates the experience several times and your photos give out such vibes wonderfully. Being newbie into wildlife photography, I can appreciate the pain behind taking great photos and of course the power of the 600 and it's weight. The landscapes have also come up quite nice. Did you have any guide or you guys roamed on your own?

Thank you for bringing the wildlife of ladakh to us.

Wow, absolutely brilliant! Thanks for sharing the wonderful pictures. Exemplary planning and execution, your knowledge of the place, routes and the species is simply outstanding

One question - where did you rent the Scorpio N? Have the locals now warmed up to the idea of allowing visitors with rental cars? I remember there were protests and later a ban as well?

What an amazing log! Thank you so much for sharing with us. Your knowledge about birds is amazing. You literally named every one of them!
I had never known about Pallas's cat! In the T-BHP thumbnail I assumed it was juvie Snow Leopard, and with that anticipation I opened the log, and boy I am super impressed. Absolutely in awe of the pictures. Definitely adding on to my list, next time I ever plan Hanle.

Kudos! Keep sharing..

Incredible man! Especially being able to spot so many Pallas cats! They're my favourite wild cat breed. Saved your travelogue!

The marmots and the pallas's cat are so cute and the Golden Eagle so elegant. Looks like you had good time. The landscapes, the food, the roads and the nature. What else do we need?
