You are very lucky indeed.. having spotted a leapord which is rarely seen. Nice pics and report. On top of Himavad Gopalswami hills, you can walk to the adjacent hills where you can see lots of elephants and Gaurs..

The King of travelogues strikes again.

Lovely account of your trip and awesome photography too. I'm finding it tough to spot the leopard though.

So when is the next one?

That's a nice log.
/me was there (http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/travelogues/27678-gopalaswamy-betta.html) 2 weeks ago, and enroute Gopalaswamy Betta we spotted a pair of leopards too!
Bandipur is a wonderful place to visit.

Hey Abhi,
nice write-up and great pictures.. It's been a long time I've read your review..I feel i really missed something.. sighting a leopard is rare and reaaaaally kewl experiance; I shall be doing the masingudi drive soon.
Let me know if you are aware about any resorts around masingudi itself, I beleive that would be a real good experiance...

Hey Abhi, nice report..
Can you please give your feedback about the resort ? how are the facilities, price, food etc ? The ones inside the Bandipur NP are insanely priced.

Reg,
Kaushik
Kaushik, Resort was big, facilities ok (clean rooms, bathrooms), it costed 750 / day for a cottage...No TV there !! Restaurant was good..There are 4 resorts in the line including 2 new ones which came up recently apart from MC Resort and Jungle Lodges...You can also try a new resort just before MC Resort (it has nice hill view)

I think there is one govt guest house inside BNP, all the others are outside I suppose...I didnt notice where is these Bush betta, Tuskar Trails (which I saw while surfing the net)

Hey AK, thanks for the info.. What's the name of the other new resort ?

Bush Betta/Tuskar Trails are inside the NP. Just after the reception/safari booking area of the forest, you have to take the next road to the left. Around after 2km you'll reach the Tuskar Trails and further down you can see the Bush betta also. They are good but quite expensive but located in a nice area.

I think it was Nilgiri Jungle Resort or just Nilgiri View Resort (cannot recall the exact name but Niligiri was there )
There was another one before Jungle Lodges, it also has some shopping area as well, It name started with bandipur something like "Bandipur Jungle Lodge"
