Re: A Walk Through Silence — My Visit to Dachau

As much as Europe tries to portray themselves as a beacon of human civilisation, they had one of the most brutal leaders and are the reason for several genocides across the world. I just hope this never happens again.
In all of this Hitler madness , let’s not forget the British version of concentration camps in the Andaman where several Indian freedom fighters were tortured and kept imprisoned.
There are several of these examples where the torturers identity is hidden because they decided what the history books should have.
I only hope and pray to God that we never allow such things to happen again.
Never forget so that this never happens again.

Closer home , the Bengal Famine caused by Churchills war efforts had resulted in a large number of deaths.

An estimated 0.8–3.8 million[A] Bengalis died, out of a population of 60.3 million. According to Irish historian Cormac Ó Gráda "the scholarly consensus is about 2.1 million"

Absolutely agree. History has many dark chapters, and it’s important to remember all of them—not just the ones widely spoken about. Acknowledging every injustice, no matter where it happened, helps ensure we never repeat those mistakes. Never forget, never again.

Yes, the Bengal Famine is a tragic and often overlooked chapter in history. Millions suffered due to decisions made far from their homeland, and the impact was devastating.
