I was not stopped by the cops. There were quite a few vehicles going down the stretch that day at least. I drove only in the daytime--I was told the restrictions apply at night in either direction.

About Destiny - The Farmstay

Friends,

I am planning for a trip to Destiny - The Farmstay in the Red Hills area of Ooty this weekend. Any inputs on how the place is recently? The last comments are from 2007. Has anyone been there recently?

Thanks,
Pravin

Its a definitely a worthy place to stay, if you don't want to go beyond Avalanche and Emerald dams.
(Its on the same route)

Last update: It was amazing in June first week.
Not sure what rains have done to the place.

FYI: Its run by the same guys who own Sherlock and Kings Cliff.

Thank you. You mention, "if you dont want to do beyond Avalance and Emerald dams". Are there better places beyond the dams?

According to me those are the best places. Why I mentioned that ? If you are a first time visitor to Ooty you would like to visit other places. In that case the farm is 30km away from Ooty.

OK, got you. No, I have been to Ooty before. Besides I would prefer the peace of a far-away place to the touristy Ooty.

By the way, how does Destiny compare with Red Hills Nature Resort? Which one is better? I saw good reviews for both of them.

No idea about the Red Hills Nature Resort. But had pretty good reviews about Destiny.

I agree. My wife and her friends, 4 women in all, stayed there last year and all 4 gave a thumbs up to it.

If any place can get approval from 4 women together, it has to be good

Thank you @ampere & @damu for your inputs. Let me think it over. I came across this thread with some awesome photos and a good review about RHNR:

Will take a call later this evening and will do a write-up once I am back on Monday.

Cheers,
Pravin
