John I was at Kovalam which is just abt 30 odd kms from chennai. Will catch up with the chennai crowd soon since I will be traveling to meet a very close friend.

Also PM me your email id , will send you a full resolution pic of the church.

Lord Yeti thanks for making thy presence felt in this thread .

No worries, pudhu maapilai (Test your tamil here). I was just wondering that is all. Who would want to meet up with a bunch of petrol & oil smelling, loud mouthed, car crazed BHPians on his newly wed getaway trip ?

Riju, in the church pic, why dont you use PS and edit out that streetlamp which just peeped into the pic on the top left?

Actually it needs more than that, the lens distortion due to intense wide angle also needs to be corrected. Actually that correction will remove the lamp out of the picture.

Samurai adding another pic shot at the same 18mm with the Nikkor 18-135mm lens. I had shot a similar pic last time with my D50 18-55mm kit lens.

The above pic doesn't have that much of a tilt as compared to the pic quoted by e_l. Any thoughts ?

Here you don't have the near end of the altar at the extreme end. So no bending.

Look under Filters menu in PS, I think the option is lens correction under distortion.
