arvindbhp, thanks for the comments. If you are taking car avoid gudalur stretch unless you have a lot of patience to drive through the potholes. you can cover pykara from ooty , the Eucylaptus plantation is between gudalur to pykara [i guess near to frog viewpoint] . if this is your first trip to ooty i suggest u also drive to kothagiri - lot of view points but drive slowly as lot of curves doesn't have side walls .

Thanks Isac, unfortunately i saw your message only today.

Had a great time driving to ooty. One learning: my car (esteem) is not suitable for full load mountain driving. We did go upto Coonoor nice drive.

If someone is looking for a nice and quite place to stay with good food, friendly staff Shemrock would be a good choice. It's a small heritage property on a hill overlooking ooty and just 2.5 kms from ooty center.

A similar winch-ride is available from Glenmorgan down to the Singara powerhouse. It's supposed to be a terrific experience too, but I haven't got a chance to try it yet.
I've seen the signboard saying Glenmorgan on my return journeys from Ooty so many times, damn I so much wanted to visit the place.Next time I'll surely visit these two places.
I somehow liked Ooty(actually not main ooty town but the surrounding areas) very much,I never get bored of it.And best time to go there would be when there are not many people, like Oct-Nov time.and also specially when it rains there ;-)
