Well, it is a small world. Since this report, the main family home (great grandfather's home) had a centenary celebration. And my first cousin bought the 100 year old home and renovated it. Looks like it will live on...

Even my grandmother's home next to it is undergoing renovation. You can see my 71 year old uncle (the farmer from first post) is repairing the Mangalore tile roof all by himself.

I was on a DK temple tour with my wife when we visited this plot of land.

The house, rather what's left of it, is in ruins. It was probably built around the same time as your great grand father's place i.e. ~80-100 years ago.

It was like taking a trip back in time. I loved the view from the river bank. So peaceful. The lush green vegetation & coconut palms provided a scenic view. I found Mangalore moving at a far less hectic pace than we are accustomed to. Very nice!
