Do tell us more about your experience and maybe a travelogue too. Im sure it would make a really interesting read.
I will put together some experience later.

Yep have been an official for many raids. Two years before last went up to Leh in my Esteem AT which was sold last year to make way for GV.

One thing that stands out is that during the Raid or desert Storm prticipants do not really realize that they are actually always within a safety envelop around them and they are being tracked. However as officials I have gone to Leh all on my own with no luxury of back up if I break down and that too in a esteem.

Thanks for change of thread title.

On the other hand, Aren't the fuel costs too high??
During city runs I get 9.5kmpl on highways 12kmpl while remaining within legal limit of 90kmph. If I do fun drives on highways I get 9kmpl. That is not too bad considering my Esteem AT used to give similar figures.

And the max we touched was 175kmph as per GPS not the speedo!

Great accounts uncleji! (And this comes from an authentic uncleji)!!
I'd like to know if you've ever had to use the diff-locks on your GV and the circumstances that required it.

Sudev,

How is the build quality holding up? Any creaks and squeaks after driving all these kms?

Sudev, awesome photographs man! I envy you - being able to just drive off to spectacular locales which are off the beaten path has always been my dream; alas, real-life doesn't allow too many breaks!

Good to see the true potential of the GV being exploited - 30k kms in 6 months is simply incredible!

Surprisingly well. No new rattles. The only odd rattle that comes is from rear wheel cover but that has been there from start.

Only few time. Like once to let a camel cart pass in sand I drove over the side which beached the vehicle. By putting in 4H-Lock I was able to reverse and be on my way. Another time was wading through slush but do not know if it was really needed.

I am off to final road book check for Desert Storm this week end and hopefully will post some more pictures. Any one interested to tag along you are welcome. I leave on 7th night/8th early morning.
