Nice pics; and good travelogue. But would have been useful if you gae breakups of the distances to places from Munnar / your hotel.

Some questions :-

What were the formalities at the checkposts?
How did the vehicle behave on those ghats, climbs, etc?
How was the climate?

BTW, it Mattupetty; not Madupatty.

Nice write up ,Karthik.
I'd love to go back to Munnar someday. My last trip was in 2005,and 3 days felt way too short to be able to see everything in & around Munnar.

thanks for your appriciation backseatdriver & nitin.
1. distance between the places from munnar

a. munnar - devikulam ( atumn tree hotel ) - 7 kms
b. munnar - mattupetty dam - 11 kms
c. mattupetty dam - echo point - 6 kms
d. echo point - top station - 20 kms
echo point , top station are in mattupetty road.

2. check post formolities in chinnar & marayur
they ask about vehicle owner, from where it comes , where to go , driving license number & to pay 20 rs.

3. the vehicle behave well in ghats & climbs , mostly i used 3 rd gear & i didnot used the a/c , i dont feel any difficulty while climbing.

4. climate
climate after 11 am is hot but after 5pm its nice.
